Matcha ice cream takes matcha powder and adds it into ice cream for a surprisingly rich and delicious result! You can find match powder at most local grocery stores (we found it at our local Target)! Note: 1 serving = 1 pint

Ninja Creami Matcha Ice Cream Recipe

Cream Cheese

Matcha Green Tea Powder

Place 1 tbsp cream cheese in a medium bowl and microwave for 5-10 seconds. If the cream cheese was in the fridge, these 5-10 seconds in the microwave will help soften it up to mix well with the other ingredients.

Combine cream cheese with 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Whisk until the ingredients are mixed together.

Combine 3/4 cup heavy cream, 1 cup whole milk, and 1.5 tsp matcha green tea powder in a Blender Bottle (or something that can be closed to shake).
Shake vigorously to stir the matcha powder into the milk and cream until fully mixed. The mixture will be a nice, smooth green.

Combine the shaken matcha milk/cream into the cream cheese/extract/sugar mixture. Whisk until combined.

Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container, ensuring it does not go over the max fill line.

Freeze the pint for 24 hours, ensuring it is placed on a flat surface in the freezer.

After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, and plug in your Ninja Creami machine! Time for the magic.
Remove the lid from the pint and grab the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Place the pint securely into the outer bowl and cover with the lid. Once the lid is on, place the outer bowl into the machine, twisting to the right until it locks into place. Press the "Ice Cream" button and (try to) wait patiently for the creamy treat coming your way.

Once the process is finished, press and hold the button on the left side of the Creami to twist the bowl to the left and remove it from the machine. Twist the lid off of the outer bowl and remove the pint.

Now your matcha ice cream is ready to enjoy!

Soft Serve Matcha Ice Cream

(14 .oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Sieve the matcha powder and set it aside. Whisk together one tablespoon of heavy cream with the matcha powder until it’s fully incorporated. Set aside.

Combine the remaining cream, condensed milk, matcha powder mix, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt into a wide bowl. Whisk for about a minute by hand, making sure not to overmix. As soon as the liquid is about to get thick, stop whisking. 

Pour the content into ice cube trays, and cover with cling wrap. Freeze for about 2 hours or until the cream mixture is firm to the touch. 

While the ice cream is freezing, get 2 large piping bags ready fitted with a star nozzle. Insert the tip of the bags into a tall glass, so it’s easy to handle when it’s time to pipe the ice cream. Also, have the serving cups ready. 

Now, release the cubes by giving the tray a QUICK run under running water or break cubes with a paring knife.  Place the cubes in the stand of a food processor and blend until it’s silky smooth, about 2 minutes or so.  You can equally use a heavy-duty blender if you don’t have a food processor. 

Quickly spoon the ice cream into the piping bags. Twist the end of the bag to seal it, slowly add pressure from the top of the bag as you swirl the ice cream into individual serving cups or waffle cones. Top with your favorite ice cream toppings

Add the whipping cream and vanilla extract to the bowl of a stand mixer, and beat on high speed until stiff peaks form.

Carefully fold in the sweetened condensed milk and matcha powder until they&#39;re well incorporated.

Pour the ice cream base into a 9x15-inch loaf pan, and smooth it out. Cover it with a layer of plastic wrap pressed against the ice cream, and freeze for 3 hours.

Remove the ice cream from the freezer, and put it back into the bowl of the stand mixer. Beat on medium-high speed for 1 minute.

Put the ice cream back in the loaf pan, smooth it out, and cover it again with plastic wrap pressed into the ice cream. Freeze for 5 more hours, then serve.

Matcha Ice Cream Recipe

Whisk the milk, sugar, and egg yolks in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Continue whisking occasionally until the milk is steaming and has reached  165 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the pot from the heat.

make matcha paste

Put the matcha powder into a small bowl and add a few tablespoons of the hot milk. Whisk well then add milk until it becomes a thin paste.

strain

Whisk the matcha paste into the hot milk then strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl.

add cream

Whisk in the whipping cream then chill the ice cream base in your fridge until completely cold.

churn

Once the ice cream is cold, churn it in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer&#39;s directions.

store

Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-proof container and freeze it for at least 2 hours. Homemade ice cream will keep well for about 2 weeks in the freezer.
