Tear the mint leaves into pieces and put 1/2 cup into a cocktail shaker with 1/4 cup lime juice, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 4 ounces tequila. Add crushed ice and shake well.

To a pitcher add the raspberries and mint leaves. Using a muddle or the back of a wooden spoon, muddle until the raspberries have released their juices and the mint leaves have wilted.

I lived in El Paso for 30 years and went to to Juarez Mexico weekly with friends. Tommy's Bar in Juarez was rumored to be the place the margarita was invented. (along with many other contenders) anywayI, I have never seen syrup used in and Margaritas I got there use only Tequila, fresh squeezed lime juice and triple-sec. Many of the Mexican restaurants that are were I live now in Missouri use the syrup and they are terrible. So I make my own and make my own Mexican food from scratch. I purchased your cookbook and use many of your recipes. I have to order many of the ingredients online because can't find them here. Keep up the good work.

Good recipe! All the ones I’ve found have been too sweet or too tart and this one is great!

Mely, we have tried them all, Margaritas that is. Personal taste, 1/3 x 3.  Tequila, lime, &amp; triple sec.  No salt, &amp; no simple syrup  Right now it's cool in Walla Walla but we can see 98 to 105.  I'll be trying your aqua frescas soon.
