aromatic bitters

Musselman's Apple Butter

apple peel

club soda

bourbon (We like 4 Roses and Bulleit)

cinnamon

Place the sugar cube, bitters, Musselman's Apple Butter, apple peels and club soda in a glass. Muddle in the glass.

Then add ice and bourbon. Stir well and add the cinnamon stick.

The woodsy flavor of pure maple syrup complements the vanilla, oak, and caramel notes of bourbon in a truly delightful and unique maple old fashioned.

Add the bitters, maple syrup, and water to a rocks glass (or pitcher). Stir gently to combine. 

Fill the glass with ice and then top...

Fill the glass with ice and then top with bourbon (or rye). Garnish with an orange wedge and/or cherry. 

Serve immediately.

In a rocks glass, muddle together the sugar cube, angostura bitters and splash of club soda until sugar is dissolved.

Add desired ice (see note) and fill with...

Garnish with orange peel.

Bourbon infused with maple syrup and spices like cinnamon, cloves, and star anise makes for an old fashioned cocktail to enjoy during the fall season.

Fall-Spiced Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe

For Infused Bourbon:

Bourbon

star anise

cloves

vanilla bean

For Fall-Spiced Old Fashioned (makes one cocktail):

Angostura aromatic bitters

oz infused-bourbon

Step 1.1

Infuse the bourbon: Place bourbon and spices in a glass jar with a lid. Allow to infuse for 24 hours, shaking occasionally. Strain the bourbon into a clean jar. (This makes enough for 8 cocktails)

Step 1.2

Make the cocktail: Add the maple syrup, water, and bitters to the bottom of an old-fashioned glass. Add the ice and the bourbon, and stir for about 30 seconds.

Step 1.3

Garnish with orange peel: Rub a piece of orange peel around the rim of the glass and drop it in.

Forget Lattes, it's fall let's drink!
