Creamy Sausage Tortellini with Spinach, Tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese sauce - Italian style easy dinner!  Buy those pre-made tortellini in the store, smother them with this delicious homemade creamy sauce, and your dinner is ready!&nbsp;

Creamy Sausage Tortellini with Spinach, Tomatoes and Mozzarella cheese sauce

pork

oz diced tomatoes

red pepper flakes

paprika

cheese tortellini

spinach (uncooked)

half and half

Mozzarella cheese (shredded)

salt (to taste)

In a large skillet, cook sausage, crumbling it and stirring, on medium heat until done and no longer pink.  Drain the fat from the skillet.

Add diced tomatoes (with the liquid from the can of diced tomatoes) to the skillet.  Add red pepper flakes, paprika.  Mix on low simmer.

In a separate pan, cook tortellini according to the package instructions.  Drain, and add them to the pan with the sausage and tomatoes.

Add uncooked spinach, mix.  Add half and half, bring to gentle boil, reduce to simmer, cover with lid and let spinach wilt for a couple of minutes, covered.  Remove the lid, stir.  Bring the mixture to a gentle medium boil.   Add 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese and stir until the cheese melts.

Taste, and add salt, extra paprika, and extra crushed red pepper flakes, if needed, to taste.

This sausage tortellini skillet is perfect for a creamy and savory dinner that is simple and tastes amazing with all the flavors blended together. It is a family favorite!

In a large saucepan over medium high heat, cook and crumble the sausage.  Remove the sausage and set aside on a plate.  Wipe down grease with a paper towel.

Add in the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese.  In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth and cornstarch.  Whisk into the sauce and add in the tortellini and spinach.  Let simmer for about 5 minutes until the tortellini is cooked, spinach has wilted and the sauce it thickened.

This incredible tortellini and sausage skillet comes together all in one pan for a simple and satisfying meal with easy prep and cleanup!

In a large skillet over medium high heat add the Italian sausage and cook until no longer pink breaking it into pieces as it cooks. Remove the sausage and set aside.

In the same skillet add the diced onions and cook until soft about 3-4 minutes. Then add in the garlic and cook another 30 seconds.

Pour in the chicken broth and turn up the heat and bring to a low boil.

Add in the frozen tortellini and cook according to the pkg directions using about 3-4 minutes for frozen.

Stir in the heavy cream.

Add back in the cooked sausage, baby spinach, and Parmesan cheese and simmer until the spinach begins to wilt after a couple of minutes. The sauce will thicken as it cools a bit.

Add the red pepper flakes and salt, and pepper to taste! Serve

This Sausage and Cheese Tortellini Pasta is one of our favorite tortellini recipes. You only need one pan, a few simple ingredients, and 30 minutes or less for this easy cheese tortellini recipe.

Sausage and Cheese Tortellini Pasta

lb smoked turkey sausage

garlic,

tomato sauce (or your favorite spaghetti sauce)

cream

oz tortellini

salt and pepper

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until just starting to smoke. Add sausage and cook until well browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Add garlic and stir until golden and fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Add broth, tomato sauce, cream, tortellini, and salt and pepper and stir to combine until simmering and bubbly.

Cover and simmer over low heat for 12 minutes until tortellini are tender and heated through. Enjoy!!

So so easy and so delicious!!! I added a little bit of Italian seasoning, some crushed red pepper for some kick and at the very end I stirred in a bit of Parmesan. It’s fantastic!! The sauce is drool worthy

I made this using some of the meat mixture I had frozen from the lasagna cupcakes recipes. It was delicious!!!!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this dish! Normally we always make a dish the first time as it is posted, but my wife doesn't care for the taste of turkey sausage. I used smoked pork and venison sausage instead, and it turned out wonderful! As empty nesters, there was plenty left for supper the next night. It actually tasted just as good the next night (if not better). Will be making this again soon!
