Fettuccine alfredo is one of life's greatest comfort foods. It's creamy, cheesy, carb-y, and super super flavorful. We especially love this version because the shrimp adds lots of extra flavor and some lean protein to boot!

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

lb. fetuccine

shrimp,

kosher salt

black pepper

garlic,

tbsp. all-purpose flour

heavy cream

c. whole milk

c. Parmesan,

tbsp. Chopped parsley, for garnish

This was awesome. Whole family loved it.  We added steamed broccoli which was great!

I made this last night and OMG it is the best version i have made so far. I have tried many different ones. Some with less and some with more ingredients. My family noticed a difference with this one. I didn't have fettuccine so i used whole wheat penni and the family still thought it was the best ever.   
Serve with some crusty Italian bread and Rex Goalith Cab Sauv ♥ . Delish for sure. 
I wish I had a better presentation picture but once I put it on the plate I was half way through before I thought to take a pic. Oh and I doubled the recipe for guest and have plenty of leftovers for lunch.

Just made this and it was awesome! Only had Half &amp; Half on hand so used in place of milk and heavy cream. Lots of garlic and parsley made this a creamy, dreamy delight! Easy too!

Flavors are good but sauce was too pasty in texture instead of creamy. Less flour?

Turned out great and really easy to make. I used the cheap Parmesan and it was still good. Next time I’ll splurge for the real Parmesan and see how that tastes.

Your New Favorite Weeknight Dinner: Shrimp Alfredo

A quick and easy Italian pasta dish made up of garlicky shrimp and fettuccine pasta smothered in an indulgent cream sauce.

Ultimate Shrimp Alfredo

Fettuccine

butter

shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails removed if desired)

garlic (minced)

heavy cream (UK double cream)

Parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)

Salt and black pepper

Cook the pasta in salted water until just underdone.

Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.

Saute the shrimp for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until shrimp are pink and opaque.

Add the garlic and cook another minute.  Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Using the same pan, heat the cream over low-medium heat.

Add the remaining butter and whisk gently until melted. Mix in the cheese. Season with freshly grated black pepper.

Drain the pasta, reserving 2 cups pasta cooking liquid. Add it to the pan with the cooked shrimp, gently toss to coat in the Alfredo sauce (adding some of the pasta water if needed to loosen).

Top with more grated cheese and chopped parsley. Serve immediately.

Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo Recipe + Video

fettuccine noodles

unsalted butter (divided)

garlic (minced and divided)

shrimp

cream cheese

milk

parmesan cheese

oregano

salt and pepper (to taste)

parsley (for garnish)

Bring a large pot of water plus 1 tablespoon of sea salt to a boil over high heat. Add the fettuccine noodles to the pot and cook to desired tenderness. Drain the pasta and keep warm.

In the meantime, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 minced garlic cloves over medium heat in a saute pan. Add shrimp to the saute pan, in batches if needed, and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side. Shrimp are done as soon as they turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside; keep warm.

Wipe excess bits of garlic and shrimp from the saute pan.

Add the remaining butter and garlic to the pan and return heat to medium. Saute for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add cream cheese to the butter mixture, whisking until the cream cheese melts and begins incorporating into the butter.

Continue whisking while pouring in the heavy cream and the milk. Whisk until smooth; continue cooking sauce over medium heat.

Add half of the parmesan cheese, whisk until it melts, then add the remaining cheese. Add the oregano and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Stir the mixture constantly over medium heat until sauce thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes.)

Add the drained pasta to the sauce and stir gently to coat the noodles. Serve, topped with warm shrimp and chopped parsley.

Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo

Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Grate parmesan cheese and set aside, to allow it to come to room temperature.

Heat a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add butter and cook until melted. Add garlic, stirring frequently for 1 minute. Add cream and whisk to combine, bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring often.

Turn heat to low and add parmesan cheese, whisking until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.  Add pasta and toss to coat.

Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon butter or oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until pink, about 2-3 minutes. Serve noodles with a scoop of shrimp on top. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

Creamy Shrimp Pasta Recipe

cajun seasoning

Cook pasta according to package directions. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and toss to combine. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon flour over the shrimp, and toss to coat the shrimp. Sprinkle 1 more tablespoon flour and toss to evenly coat the shrimp.

Melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. When hot, add the shrimp in a single layer and cook on each side, flipping once, until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Remove to plate.

Pour the chicken broth into the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, whisking the bottom of the pan to deglaze. Reduce heat to medium and pour in cream, whisking constantly. Cook sauce over medium heat until bubbly and the cream starts to thicken the mixture, about 5 minutes.

Taste the sauce and add seasonings as desired (salt, pepper, cajun seasonings, etc.) Add the drained pasta and shrimp to the sauce, and stir to combine.
