Stuffed Cabbage Soup

In a large pot over medium high heat add the ground beef and cook and crumble.  Drain and set aside on a plate.  Add two tablespoons butter and onion and sauté until tender.  Remove and set aside with ground beef.

Add in 2 Tablepoons butter and cabbage and cook until the cabbage is tender and starts to wilt.  Add the ground beef and onion back to the pan.

Add in the crushed tomatoes, beef stock and chopped tomatoes, and italian seasoning and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Add in rice before serving and salt and pepper to taste.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the ground beef and brown evenly for 2 minutes. Drain excess fat if desired.

Add the onion and carrot to the pot; saute for 5 minutes to soften. Add the garlic and cabbage to the pot, along with the diced tomatoes and chicken broth.

Stir the rice into the pot and add...

Stir the rice into the pot and add the paprika, bay leaf, and salt. Allow the soup to come to a boil, then turn the heat down to low and place a lid on the pot. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the cabbage is softened.

Stir in the sugar, Worcestershire, and vinegar. Taste...

Stir in the sugar, Worcestershire, and vinegar. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed. Serve garnished with fresh parsley.

In a large stock pot brown ground beef (drain excess liquid if desired), then add onion, garlic, and seasoned salt  until mixture is aromatic and onions are translucent. 

Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and 4 cups chicken stock. Bring back to a simmer. 

Stir in cabbage and cook on medium/low covered about 20 minutes until cabbage is wilted and softened. Stir in rice and cover until rice is ready.&nbsp;

Stir in remaining chicken stock, as needed until desired consistency is reached. Enjoy!

STOVE TOP

In inner pot on saute mode, brown ground beef (drain excess liquid if desired), then add onion, garlic, and seasoned salt  until mixture is aromatic and onions are translucent. 

Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, 4 cups chicken stock, and cabbage.

Cover, set to &#039;sealing&#039; and cook on manual (high pressure) for 3 minutes.  Hit cancel, NPR ten minutes, then release remaining pressure.

Stir in rice and cover (pot should not be on, rice will cook with residual heat). Allow to sit for 5 - 7 minutes until rice is cooked to your liking.

Stir in remaining chicken stock,  if you wish, until desired consistency is reached, (bring back to a simmer on saute mod) . Enjoy!

INSTANT POT

Brown ground beef on stovetop (drain excess liquid if desired). Add all ingredients EXCEPT rice to slow cooker.

Cover, and cook on high for 4 - 6 hours or low for 8 - 10 hours. Stir in rice and cover. Allow to sit for 5 - 7 minutes until rice is cooked to your liking.

Stir in remaining stock, if you wish, until desired consistency is reached.

I only use one cup of rice as otherwise there is no broth. I also use mild Italian sausage in place of ground beef. You can add sauerkraut too if you like!

Making this right now! I usually don’t follow recipes, but this one is great! Made it with turkey and brown rice and added carrots and celery and more herbs. Very tasty and pretty simple!

This was wonderful! Next time I might cut the rice to 2 cups to make it a bit more soup like! That’s just a personal preference.

We loved this simple delicious recipe. We used cooked long grain rice instead of instant rice.

Oddly enough, it is great accompanied with CORNBREAD!!

Easy Stuffed Cabbage Soup - How to make stuffed cabbage the easy way!

This Cabbage Roll Soup recipe is a cozy, one-pot meal that delivers all the rich, savory flavors of traditional cabbage rolls without the fuss of rolling or baking. Packed with ground beef, pork, cabbage, and rice in a tangy tomato broth, it&#39;s the ultimate comfort food.

Cabbage Roll Soup

lb beef

½ lb ground sausage

Salt and black pepper

carrots

cabbage (, (packed))

garlic (, minced)

low-sodium beef broth

tomato sauce

14.5 oz can petite diced tomatoes

oregano

thyme

dry jasmine or long-grain white rice

lemon

Brown meat: Heat a Dutch oven or large soup pot over medium-high heat. Cook ground beef and pork, breaking it up into small pieces, until browned.

Saute Veggies: Add onion and cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic. Add carrots and cabbage and cook 2 minutes.

Finish soup: Add beef broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire, paprika, oregano, thyme and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer. Stir in rice.

Simmer: Cover pot, reduce heat and simmer for about 25 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking, until rice is cooked through.

Taste and serve: Add additional beef broth if you’d like to soupier. Taste soup and season with additional salt and pepper if needed. Remove bay leaf. Stir in lemon juice and parsley. (I enjoy this soup with a few dashes of crushed red pepper flakes on top, too).

Such a delicious soup. I didn’t have carrots on hand so subbed in celery. Served it with fresh biscuits and the whole family, myself included, loved it. A great hearty soup for a colder night with a bit of jambalaya flavor. Will definitely be making often.

We subbed the sausage for ground pork but otherwise made this as is, and it came out AMAZING. We've been trying to do a new recipe every week this year, and this is definitely the best new recipe we've tried. Will be making again and again!

I'm trying to find more ways to incorporate cooked cabbage into my diet. I subbed two kinds of slightly sprouted lentils, green and black, for the meats, and barley instead of rice, and this is a really great addition to my collection. Makes my cranky cancer-treatment-abused stomach very happy.

I made this recipe last night and it was really tasty! While not exactly the same taste as the cabbage rolls my mother used to make, it definitely takes you to that memory and fills that craving. This made much more than I was expecting so I will have plenty to freeze, which makes me happy because I love having frozen soup on hand. I did not add the lemon juice or parsley, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. This is going into my soup rotation.  One question, will my printed out recipe be worth more in the future, since mine has the brown sugar typo on it?  Ha ha!  Thanks for another great recipe!

Delicious! I love cabbage rolls, but don't take the time to make them. This tastes the same and is easy to make. I added a dollop of creme fraiche when serving.

Golumpki Soup

lb ground Italian turkey sausage

rice

tomato paste

28 oz can of diced tomatoes

V8 juice

tsp pepper

In a stock pot, over medium heat, brown the turkey sausage.

Add onions to pot and cook until onions soften.

Add cabbage to pot and cook until cabbage starts to soften, maybe about 2-3 minutes.

Push ingredients to the edges of the pot to create an opening in the middle of the pot.

Add tomato paste and cook until tomato paste starts to darken, about 1-2 minutes.

Stir in remaining ingredients to the pot and allow soup to come to a slight boil.

Lower temperature to a simmer and cover.

Cook for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the cabbage and rice are softened.
