Tasting just like a Krispy Kreme donut, these glazed keto donuts are cake based, fried and coated with a sweet vanilla glaze.

Keto Krispy Kreme Donuts

almond flour

monkfruit sweetener

baking powder

xanthan gum

salt

butter, melted

sour cream

water

lard, oil

confectioners Swerve

heavy whipping cream

vanilla extract

Get a medium bowl

Add the almond flour, protein powder, sugar free sweetener, baking powder, xanthan gum and salt to a medium bowl. Mix until combined.

Mix it

Stir in melted butter, sour cream and hot water. 

Shape the dough

Grab a handful of dough and roll it into a short snake shape. Mold the ends together to form a donut shape. Wet hands with a little bit of water or spray oil on your hands to keep the dough from sticking to your hands.

Heat the lard

Add lard to a small non-stick skillet and heat to low - medium heat. Add enough lard to cover the donut almost halfway. Add a couple of donuts to the skillet and fry on each side until golden brown. Can swirl the oil in the pan to help coat the donuts as they cook. 

Remove it

Remove from skillet and place on a wire rack to cool.

Krispy Kreme

To make the Krispy Kreme glaze, add confectioner's Swerve, heavy cream and vanilla to a small bowl. Mix to combine. Microwave for 20 seconds to get a thin consistency.

Dip it

Dip the top of your donut into the glaze and place on a wire rack to set.

Keto Jelly Donuts

c unflavored protein powder

monkfruit blend sweetener

unsalted butter, melted

lard or avocado oil, for frying

sugar

konjac gum powder

lemon juice

flavor extract

food coloring

filling injector

Mix dry ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, protein powder, sweetener, baking powder, xanthan gum and salt. 

Add wet ingredients

To the dry ingredients, add melted butter, sour cream and egg. Stir with an electric mixer until smooth and combined. 

Mold donut shapes

Roll dough into 8 balls and flatten into a round bun shape. 

Add lard or avocado oil to a small non-stick skillet and heat to medium heat. Add enough lard or or oil to cover the donut almost halfway. Add a couple of donuts to the skillet and fry on each side until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side). Can swirl the oil in the pan to help coat the donuts as they cook. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to cool.

Make sugar free filling

Mix the konjac gum powder with the powdered sugar free sweetener. Then pour mixture into boiling water. Immediately stir to combine to avoid clumping. Add lemon juice flavor extract and food coloring. Stir to combine. Mixture will continue to thicken as it cools.

Fill the donuts

Add jelly to a piping bag fitted with a injector tip and pipe jelly into the center of each donut. 

Dust

Dust with powdered sugar free sweetener if desired.

Keto Chocolate Donuts Recipe

coconut flour

Swerve Sweetener

cocoa powder

tbsp egg

tsp baking powder

tsp salt

eggs

butter (melted)

tsp vanilla extract

coffee

heavy cream

water coffee

Preheat the oven to 325ºF and grease a donut pan very well.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the coconut flour, sweetener, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract, then stir in the liquid until well combined.

Divide the batter among the wells of the donut pan. If you have a six-well donut pan, you may need to work in batches.

Bake 16 to 20 minutes, until the donuts are set and firm to the touch. Remove and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then flip out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Chocolate Donuts

In a medium shallow bowl, whisk together the powdered sweetener and cocoa powder. Add the heavy cream and vanilla and whisk to combine.

Add enough water until the glaze thins out and is of a "dippable" consistency, without being too watery.

Dip the top of each donut into the glaze. Sprinkle with any decorations and let set about 30 minutes.

Chocolate Glaze

These are soooo good!  I've made them several times and they're easy to make.  Adding the coffee to both the recipe and the frosting gives the chocolate flavor an added richness. You'd never know they were Keto. Great recipe! Thank you Carolyn!

These donuts were excellent! I didn’t have whey protein, so I used Naked Goat protein powder. I also only used 2 Tbsp of swerve .

I think I glazed them when they were still too warm because the glaze kind of absorbed into the donut.  But the donuts were very yummy and I liked them so much!  Thanks for your amazing recipes!
