This healthy turkey chili is perfect for fall, and you can make it in your Instant Pot, slow cooker or on the stove top.  It is simple, delicious and very easy to make.&nbsp;

Healthy Turkey Chili

turkey (93% lean)

onion

bell pepper (red

jalapeño pepper

garlic

Tablespoon chili powder

Tablespoon cumin

coriander

maple syrup

salt

black pepper

beef broth

kidney beans (undrained, 14.5 ounces)

tomatoes (undrained, 14.5 ounces)

tomato sauce ((you can substitute with ketchup))

Brown the ground turkey over medium-high heat for a few minutes until crumbly (about 5 to 7 minutes).

Stir in onion, peppers, garlic, spices, broth, maple syrup, salt and pepper.  Continue to cook over medium heat for another 8-10 minutes, until vegetables are tender.

Add the kidney beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer over low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring frequently.

Serve and enjoy!

Stove Top Instructions

Brown the ground turkey on the sauté setting for a few minutes until crumbly (about 5 to 7 minutes).

Add in the the onion, peppers, garlic, spices, broth, maple syrup, salt and pepper. Continue to cook over medium heat for another 7 or 8 minutes, until vegetables are tender.

Add the kidney beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce.

Place the lid on, lock it and set the valve to sealing.

Cook on high pressure for 12 minutes, and allow the pot to release pressure naturally (do not use quick release). Mine took about 24 minutes to fully release, FYI.

After pressure indicator has lowered, switch the lever to venting, and remove the lid.

Instant Pot Instructions

Brown the ground turkey in a large pan on the stovetop over medium heat for a few minutes until crumbly (about 5 to 7 minutes).

Stir in onion, peppers, garlic, spices, wine/broth, maple syrup, salt and pepper.

Continue to cook over medium heat for another 7 to 8 minutes, until vegetables are tender.

Transfer everything to the slow cooker, and add in the&nbsp;kidney beans, tomatoes and tomato sauce.

Simmer on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours.

One Pot Cheesy Turkey Taco Chili Mac

garlic powder

tsp cumin

tsp kosher salt

tsp chili powder

paprika

oregano

93% turkey

red bell pepper (chopped)

tomatoes

14.5 oz can pink or red beans (drained)

tomato sauce

(8 oz fat-free refried beans)

15 chicken broth*

water

oz DeLallo Gluten Free shells

part-skim shredded sharp cheddar cheese*

tbsp fresh cilantro (chopped)

tbsp chopped scallions

Heat a large Dutch oven or pot with a fitted lid over medium-high heat and spray with oil, brown the turkey breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.

When cooked through, add the onions, garlic, pepper and taco seasoning; cook 2-3 minutes.

Add the canned tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, refried beans, chicken broth and water.

Bring to a boil, cover and simmer about 15 minutes. Adjust salt to taste.

Stir in the uncooked pasta and simmer uncovered over medium heat until al dente, about 6 minutes or according to package directions.

Remove the pot from heat and top with the cheese, cover and let sit for about 2-3 minutes, until the cheese melts.

Serve immediately garnished with fresh cilantro and scallions.

The Best Turkey Chili Recipe (Stove Top, Slow Cooker or Instant Pot)

olive oil

turkey

garlic (minced)

brown sugar

chili powder (use 1 tablespoon for less spice)

cumin

tomato paste

chicken broth (or

kidney beans (rinsed and drained)

can black beans

can pinto beans (rinsed and drained)

For topping: shredded cheese, sour cream

Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven or large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook 2 minutes, until onion starts to soften. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring to crumble the meat, until turkey is browned, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.

Add the brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste. Stir to combine. Add the broth and stir, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and beans.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. Cover the chili during the first part of the cook time, and then uncover during the last 30 minutes to thicken.

Serve chili with toppings, as desired.

To Make on the Stove Top:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook 2 minutes, until onion starts to soften. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring to crumble the meat, until turkey is browned, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.

Turn off the heat and add the brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste. Stir to combine. Add the broth and stir, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot. Transfer the mixture into your slow cooker insert.

Add the crushed tomatoes and then beans to the slow cooker and stir.

Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.

Stir and serve chili with toppings, as desired.

To Make in the Slow Cooker:

Turn Instant Pot on sauté setting. Add the olive oil and onion and cook 2 minutes, until onion starts to soften. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring to crumble the meat, until turkey is browned, about 5 minutes. Turn off the Instant Pot and stir in the garlic.

Add the brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste. Stir to combine. Add the broth and stir well, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pot.

Add the crushed tomatoes and then beans on top of the meat mixture and DO NOT stir in.

Close the Instant Pot lid and move the valve to the sealing position. Pressure cook on high pressure for 12 minutes.

Allow the Instant Pot to naturally release for 10 minutes (by leaving it off after it finishes cooking). Then, carefully do a quick pressure release (use a potholder or long spoon to carefully move the steam release valve to venting) to release the remaining steam and pressure. Once the float valve drops down, carefully open the Instant Pot lid away from you, as the steam will be hot.

If the chili is not thick enough, simmer it using the sauté function to thicken it up. Stir and serve chili with toppings, as desired.

Turkey Chili Recipe

This delicious turkey and sweet potato chili is warm, comforting and made in the slow cooker for ease of cooking. The perfect meal for a chilly fall evening!

Slow Cooker Turkey and Sweet Potato Chili

½ turkey

bell pepper (, chopped)

onion (, chopped)

garlic (, minced)

cumin (, divided)

chili powder (, divided)

red pepper flakes (, divided)

oregano (, divided)

salt (, divided)

vegetable oil

tomato (, diced)

potato

chicken stock

parsley (, chopped)

In a large bowl, combine turkey, bell pepper, onion, garlic, ½ teaspoon cumin, ½ teaspoon chili powder, ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, 1 teaspoon oregano and 1 teaspoon salt.

Heat up the oil in a large skillet over high-medium heat. Brown the turkey breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Once completely browned, carefully, transfer the meat into the slow cooker. Add the rest of the cumin, chili powder, red pepper flakes, oregano and salt. Then, add the diced tomato and its juices, tomato sauce, sweet potato and chicken stock. Stir to combine.

Cover and cook for 4 hours and 30 minutes on high or 6 hours on low. Taste and season with salt as needed.

Finally, add fresh parsley roughly chopped,15 minutes before the chili is ready, for added freshness.

Serve warm with side of choice.

Our turkey chili recipe is so filling and satisfying! It&#039;s meaty and comes together quickly on the stove or cooks effortlessly in the slow cooker*. It&#039;s on the regular rotation at our house. Serve in bowls with tortilla chips or over baked potatoes with your favorite chili toppings.*

In a 5 Qt pot or Dutch oven over medium/high heat, add 1 Tbsp olive oil and sautee ground turkey until cooked through (5 min). 

Add diced onion, chili powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper. Sautee 5 minutes or until onions are softened. 

Add canned diced tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, beans, diced jalapeños or chilis, and corn.

Stir to combine and bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer partially covered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water or chicken stock towards the end if you prefer a thinner chili. Keep in mind it thickens slightly as it cools. Season to taste towards the end of cooking (I like to add an extra 1/2 tsp salt).

So good!! I made it tonight! My new favorite! I did add an extra half pound of turkey meat.

Made this easy fast chili on a cold snowy day!! I ale ways substitute turkey in a lot of recipes. Only change was omitting corn. Plus added a can of Rotel tomatoes!!

Great recipe, however I used leftover beef brisket and beef broth instead of the turkey and chicken broth. Absolutely fantastic!
