Press the saute button on the Instant Pot. Spray with oil then add the beef and salt, cook breaking the meat up until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the onion, garlic, marjoram and black pepper and stir. Add the tomato sauce, paprika, beef broth and raisins, cover and cook high pressure 15 minutes.

Quick release, add the rice and cabbage and cook 3 minutes high pressure. Quick release and serve with additional rice if desired.

Instant Pot:

Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, spray with oil then add the beef and salt, cook breaking the meat up until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the onion, garlic, marjoram and black pepper and stir. Add the tomato sauce, 1/4 cup water, paprika, beef broth and raisins, cover and cook medium-low 25 minutes.

Add the cooked rice and cabbage and cook 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender. Serve with additional rice if desired.

Rough chop one onion and evenly spread it on bottom of Instant Pot.

Chop onion and rough chop the cabbage and place into a bowl. Set aside.

In a Large Measuring Cup, or bowl, add all sauce ingredients (diced tomatoes w/ juice, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, coconut oil (or Crisco), mined garlic, Sour Salt (OR juice from 2 lemons OR 2 teaspoons True Lemon Crystals), brown sugar substitute, salt and pepper) and whisk together well.

In another large mixing bowl, add ground turkey (or ground beef), riced cauliflower, egg, salt, pepper, minced garlic, xanthan gum and Worcestershire sauce. Mix together well.

Use a Large Cookie Scoop and form meat mixture into meatballs. [They do not need to be perfect.]

Gently, place half the meatballs (10-12) to the Instant Pot.

Add half the remaining onions and cabbage. Lightly press down the cabbage and onions, being careful not to smash the meatballs.

Pour half of the sweet and sauce over the onions and cabbage.

Form the rest of the meatballs and place them in the Instant Pot.

Spread half of the remaining cabbage and onions over the meatballs.

Carefully pour the rest of the sauce over the cabbage and onions.

Spread the rest of the onions and cabbage over the meatballs and slightly press down. The pot will be very full.

Lock on lid and close pressure valve. Cook at high pressure for 4 minutes. 

When beep sounds, wait 10 minutes and then manually release the rest of the pressure (if any is left).

Remove lid and give it a mix.

Serve in bowls or plates.

All all ingredients to a large Dutch Oven and simmer for 30 minutes.

Low Carb Cabbage Rolls

In a large skillet, heat oil then add onions and saute 2-3 minutes. &nbsp;Add garlic and ground beef.

Brown ground beef, drain fat, then add tomatoes, marinara and seasonings.&nbsp;

Add cabbage and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cover.

Cook about 15-20 minutes or until cabbage softens. Adjust seasonings.&nbsp;

Serve as is for low carb meal or add a side of rice for a family friendly meal.

In a large frying pan add the olive oil, garlic, onion, and ground beef, cook on medium heat until almost all browned.

Then add the cabbage, tomatoes, water and rice, stir to combine, add the spices and combine. Cook over low-medium heat for approximately 30 minutes or until cooked and thickened. Enjoy!

In a large saute pan over medium high heat brown beef. ( If there is excess beef fat of a couple Tablespoons remove excess fat).

Add onion, garlic, bell pepper. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until onions being to get tender.

Add diced tomatoes, cabbage, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Stir together. Cover pan with a lid and cook for 18-25 minutes, or until cabbage and peppers are tender. Season with additional salt and pepper here, if needed)

Top with shredded cheese and cover again until cheese is melted.

Spoon into a bowl, garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!

Cabbage Roll Casserole (Unstuffed Cabbage)

Bites of juicy ground beef with fluffy rice and tangy tomato sauce are made even better layered into these Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls.

tsp chili powder

granulated garlic or garlic powder

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

oz crushed tomatoes

tbsp white wine vinegar

brown sugar

rice

Warm the oil in a large deep sided skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the beef, chili powder, garlic, salt, and pepper. Crumble the meat as it cooks.

When the meat has browned, about 8 minutes, add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, vinegar, brown sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.

Stir in the cabbage, reduce to simmer, and cover with lid. Cook until the cabbage is bright green, tender, and still slightly crisp, about 4-5 minutes.

Add in the cooked rice and simmer just until heated through about 2 minutes. Serve warm.

This soup is so delicious and filling. I love to serve it with some homemade sourdough bread.

SOOO much better than the oven recipe I have tried in the past.I added a ton of garlic, S&amp;P, and more rice than called for. Next time I will use a bigger cabbage. Loved the stovetop method! Thank you for sharing!

This was amazing!!!  I always make recipes my own, for my family’s tastebuds.  I’m not sure why more people don’t taste &amp; add to what you like. I added more seasoning, to include jalapeños &amp; cayenne pepper &amp; lots of salt. I also did a little tomato sauce &amp; lots of garlic! I have a house full of Italian! Anyway, it was delicious. 
Anyone complaining about the recipe should have just used this as a base &amp; added additional ingredients to suit their likes.

Mediterranean-Style Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

Kosher salt

brown rice or 1 1/2 cups cooked brown rice

extra virgin olive oil

yellow onion, (chopped)

garlic cloves, (minced)

beef turkey

black pepper

parsley

dill

allspice

cumin

Blanch the cabbage. In a large pot or Dutch oven, boil plenty of water. Add cabbage and cook until bright green and tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer cooked cabbage to a colander to drain, and return the water to the boil.

Cook the rice. Once boiling, season water with a big pinch of salt. Add the uncooked rice and give it a stir. Boil until the rice is tender but not mushy, about 30 minutes. Drain the rice through a fine sieve and set aside.

Brown the onions, garlic, and beef. Wipe the empty pot and return it to medium heat. Add extra virgin olive oil and heat until shimmering but not smoking. Add onions and cook, stirring regularly, for 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned. Add garlic and ground meat. Break the meat apart using a wooden spoon. Raise heat to medium-high. Cook until meat is fully browned, stirring occasionally. Carefully drain any fat, and return to  heat. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the cabbage, brown rice, chopped herbs, and spices. Season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

Boil, then simmer. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then lower heat. Cover and simmer until rice has absorbed some of the cooking liquid, 15 to 20 minutes.

Finish and serve. Ladle into serving bowls and serve, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.
