The Best Vegan Apple Crumble

all-purpose flour

granulated sugar

½ cup of packed brown sugar

salt

cinnamon

vegan butter

apples

lemon juice

¼ cup of packed brown sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease an 8x8 baking dish.

In a medium bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the crumble. Use a fork to cut it until it resembles crumbs, and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix sliced apples, lemon juice, sugars, flour, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.

Fill the baking dish with the apple filling. The apples should be filled to the top almost spilling out.

Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples and bake for 50 to 55 minutes, until golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes to thicken up.

An easy to make vegan apple crumble with all gluten-free ingredients. Can also be adjusted to become nut-free. It is low in sugar, delicious and this vegan apple crumble keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Easy Vegan Apple Crumble

Decore and peel the

Decore and peel the apples. Cut them in half, then slice the apples. Don't cut them too thin or they will break during the preparation phase.<br />
In a large nonstick pot, combine cornstarch with 1 1/2 cups of cold water, and stir until fully dissolved. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, vanilla extract, sugar and lemon juice. Mix well to cover the apple slices in spices.

Set heat to low-medium.

Set heat to low-medium. Cook the apples and the rest of the ingredients for about 15 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remember to stir frequently so the syrupy apples don't stick to the bottom of the pot.<br />
Carefully transfer the mixture into a lightly oiled springform pan. Tap the pan a few times to even out the apple mixture.

Allow it to cool

Allow it to cool at room temperature for about one hour. Refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight.<br />
When ready, slowly release from the springform pan. I leave the vegan apple crumble on the base of the springform pan. This is to ensure the vegan apple pie doesn't collapse or break when moved to another plate. Although fully set, it is still a little fragile.

Mix the oats and the nuts in a blender and whizz until you get soft crumbs. Transfer to a bowl and using your fingers, mix the two together. The result will be a soft and slightly moist crumb. Decorate the vegan apple pie with the crumbs and add a few crushed freeze-dried raspberries for some extra decoration. <br />
Cover and keep refrigerated. Consume within 5 days.

How to make Vegan Apple Crumble

 With a homemade chai spice mix in both the apple filling and crumble topping, this Vegan Apple Crisp is the most comforting Fall dessert!

Vegan Chai Spiced Apple Crisp

Preheat the oven to 350F and lightly grease an 8 by 8 inch baking dish. Set aside.

Add the ground cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, salt, &amp; pepper to a small bowl and whisk together. Set aside.

Make the chai spice mix:

Add the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of the chai mix to a mixing bowl and whisk together.

Then, add the vegan butter to the bowl. Cut the butter into the dough using a pastry cutter, fork, or even a food processor until you have a crumbly mixture. Set aside.

Make the crisp topping:

Peel, core, and cut the apples into 1-inch slices. Then, add the apple slices to the greased 8 by 8 inch baking dish.

Add the sugar, flour, lemon juice, and 2 teaspoons of the chai mix to the dish of apples. Then, stir everything together until the apples are coated.

Make the apple filling:

Top the apple filling with the crumbled crisp topping until the apples are covered.

Then, add to the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. The crisp is done when the topping has browned and is crunchy, the apples are soft, and the sides are bubbling and thick.

Remove the crisp from the oven and serve warm with a big scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream on top. Enjoy!
