This apple crumble recipe is really the best! Cozy and classic, it stars a golden, crunchy topping over a layer of warm-spiced fruit.

Winter Apple Crumble (&amp; More Desserts!)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Core, peel and dice the apples into 1/2-inch chunks. Combine the apples with the lemon juice, cornstarch, granulated sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of the cinnamon, ginger, and allspice in a large bowl and toss until well coated. Pour into a round 9-inch pie pan, 9 x 9 inch baking dish or 7 x 11 baking dish.

Make the topping: In a medium bowl, add the flour, brown sugar, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, baking powder and kosher salt. Mix together with a fork. Pour in the melted butter while mixing with the fork until a crumbly mixture forms. Use your fingers to sprinkle the crumbles evenly over the filling.

Bake: Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the top is evenly golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Cool for 1 hour, then serve. Store at room temperature covered for 1 day, refrigerated for 4 days, or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350 degree oven until bubbly.

Unsalted Butter (softened)

Sugar

Eggs (beaten)

Flour

t Baking Powder

Salt

Milk

(765 g Unsweetened Pie Apples

(410 g Pineapple Pieces, drained (14 oz))

t Ground Cinnamon

Fresh Cream (whipping cream/heavy cream)

t Vanilla

Pre-heat oven to 180 deg C (350 deg F) – Spray a 20 x 30 cm (9 x 13 inch) oven dish with cooking oil

In a medium bowl beat the Butter and Sugar until creamy – add the Eggs, beat to combine

Sift together the Flour, Baking Powder and Salt – Stir this into the Egg mixture and add the Milk – stir well until all ingredients are combined – Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared oven dish

Mix the Apples and Pineapple – cut into small pieces

Place the Apple and Pineapple onto the batter and using a spoon or fork, press lightly into the batter

Sprinkle the Cinnamon over and bake for 40 minutes

SAUCE: Simmer the Cream, Sugar and Vanilla until the Sugar has dissolved – Remove the cake tart from the oven, immediately prick several times with a fork and pour the hot Cream sauce over

Bake another 5 – 8 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and begins to brown

Remove from the oven and let stand at least 5 minutes

Delicious and indulgent, this self-saucing chocolate pudding will be your new favourite recipe.

unsalted butter

(165 grams) caster sugar

(150 grams) self-raising flour, sifted

tbs cocoa, sifted, plus extra to dust

(185 grams) brown sugar

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Grease a 1.5L (6-cup) capacity ovenproof baking dish.

Step 2

Melt the butter with the milk in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the vanilla, caster sugar, flour and 1 tbs cocoa, stirring to combine. Spread mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Step 3

Combine the brown sugar and remaining 1 tbs cocoa in a bowl with 2 cups (500ml) boiling water. Stir until sugar has dissolved, then carefully pour over the pudding batter. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is firm.

Dust the warm pudding with cocoa and serve immediately topped with cream.
