Drizzle a little sunflower oil evenly into two <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/review/best-yorkshire-pudding-tins">4-hole Yorkshire pudding tins</a> or two 12-hole non-stick muffin tins and place in the oven to heat through.

To make the batter, tip 140g plain flour into a bowl and <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/review/best-whisks">beat</a> in 4 eggs until smooth.

Gradually add 200ml milk and carry on beating until the mix is completely lump-free. Season with salt and pepper.

Pour the batter into a jug, then remove the hot tins from the oven. Carefully and evenly pour the batter into the holes.

Place the tins back in the oven and leave undisturbed for 20-25 mins until the puddings have puffed up and browned.

Serve immediately. You can now cool them and freeze for up to 1 month.

Perfect Vegan Yorkshire Puddings

Preheat oven to 425°F (218 °C) and have a shelf set about 3/4 way up with an old baking tray on it. It must be preheated with the oven and is there to catch any oil spillovers when you are cooking the puddings.

In a medium bowl, add the all purpose flour, chickpea flour, baking powder and salt and whisk them together. As I mention in my post, I highly recommend weighing the ingredients for optimum results.&nbsp;

In a jug, combine the mustard, apple cider vinegar, aquafaba and water and whisk them together.&nbsp;

Pour the combined liquids into the dry ingredients and whisk together until smooth and bubbly. Pour into a jug to make pouring quick and easy, then leave to rest for 10 minutes.&nbsp;

While the batter is resting, prepare your muffin pans. They must be metal pans and not ceramic and they must be muffin pans and not shallow Yorkshire pudding pans. If you use a pan with shallow wells they will not work. Add enough oil to give a depth of about 3mm, then swirl it around in the pan so it goes up the sides. For my muffin pans that is about 1¼ tablespoons for each well. Don't be tempted to use less as the batter won't get hot enough when you pour it in and that will mean that you won't get nice bowl shaped Yorkshire Puddings.&nbsp;Put the oiled muffin pans in the oven for 10 minutes. By then they should be absolutely smoking hot. That's what you want. If you don't see smoke rising from them if you open the door to peek, leave them a minute or two longer.

You need to work very quickly now. Make sure your jug of batter is right next to you as you open the oven. Very quickly, but very carefully, remove the muffin pan from the oven, making sure to close the door to keep the heat in.In a long, thin stream, pour the batter into the hot oil in each well of the pan. You need to fill them nearly to the top. The oil will rise above the batter (that's what makes gives you the bowl shape puddings). Stop pouring once the oil is just about level with the rim of the well. You need to do this really quickly because you need to keep the heat in the pan for the puddings to work well. As soon as the wells are all full, put the pan right back into the oven and shut the door quickly. You should get 6 to 8 Yorkshire Puddings from the batter.&nbsp;

Cook the puddings for at least 30 minutes, but maybe up to 35 or 40 minutes until really golden and crispy and until the insides have dried out to your liking. I like them a little gooey inside and 30 minutes will get them there. If you prefer them a little dryer, turn the oven down and let them cook a little longer.&nbsp;Do not open the oven door, not even for a quick peek until you are past 25 minutes of cooking.&nbsp;

Remove the puddings from the oven and serve immediately.&nbsp;

These homemade Yorkshire puddings are so easy peasy and taste so amazing, you will never again even consider buying ready-made yorkies! Better still they rise perfectly every time, only take 5 minutes hands-on time and are practically foolproof.

Easy Peasy Yorkshire Puddings

200 ml semi-skimmed milk

Preheat your oven to 220C / 200C fan / gas mark 7 / 425F. Put 1 teaspoon of olive oil into each hole of a 12 hole muffin tin (see note 1) and place the muffin tin in the oven – it will heat up as the oven heats up.

In a bowl, mix together the flour and salt, to ensure the salt is evenly distributed.

Measure out the milk and water in a measuring jug, then crack the eggs into the same jug. Whisk together with a balloon whisk (or a fork, if you don’t have a balloon whisk).

Pour the eggs/milk/water mixture into the flour/salt mixture slowly, whisking constantly to ensure the ingredients are well combined.

Pour the Yorkshire pudding batter into the jug (to make it easier to pour into the tin later).

Leave the batter to rest for 20 minutes (during which time your oven and muffin tin will heat to the perfect temperature.

Now you need to work quickly. Remove the muffin tin from the oven, fill each hole two-thirds full with batter and get the muffin tray back into the oven ASAP (DO NOT leave the oven door open while you do this or your oven will cool down too much).

Cook your Yorkshire puddings for 25-30 minutes or until done to your preferred level of squidgyness/crispness (20 minutes for pale gold and squidgy, 25 minutes for mid gold and crisp with a touch of squidge, 30-35 minutes for dark gold and no squidge).

DO NOT for any reason open the oven door for the first 20 minutes of cooking time (or they will fall flat!)

Remove from the oven and eat immediately (if you leave them for any length of time they will lose their crispness and deflate somewhat).

Serve with roast beef, other roast meats or sausages.

Flawless Yorkshire Puddings

60 ml Sunflower/ Vegetable Oil

Plain flour

Eggs

ml Milk

salt and pepper

Preheat oven at 220°C fan / 240°C /475 °F /gas mark 9 Sieve flour into a bowl or jug

Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, salt and pepper to the bowl.

Whisk

Whisk until smooth with a hand blender for quickest results.Or hand whisk until smooth.Leave to rest for 10 minutes.

Add 1 tsp oil in each section of a cupcake/muffin trayPlace the cupcake tray in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to heat the oil.

Remove

After 10 minutes remove the cupcake /muffin tray from the oven carefully as the oil will be extremely hot

Pour

Pour the batter evenly in each section to just over ½ way, using a spoon to prevent drips. Work as quick as possible.

Cook

Place in the centre of the oven for about 15 minutes.

Crispy

Remove when the yorkshire puddings are golden and crispy. If you remove them too early they will not be crispy enough and shrink!

75 g gluten free self raising flour

75 g Corn Flour

200 ml unsweetened vegan milk ((I use almond milk))

In a deep cupcake tray add 1 tsp sunflower oil into each hole and place in a 210C / 410F oven for 15 mins, you need the oil very hot!

Meanwhile, make the batter by adding both flours, baking powder and milk to a large mixing bowl and whisking until smooth. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before transferring to something that pours well

Remove the tray from the oven and evenly pour into each making sure to not overfill, place back in the oven at 210C/410F for 15 mins (Try not to open the oven whilst they’re cooking)

Finally with a spoon push in the middle to allow space for gravy!
