This Crockpot Goulash recipe has tender pasta noodles mixed in a rich beefy meat sauce.

Crockpot Goulash

beef

½ medium onions (diced)

garlic (minced)

green pepper (diced)

tomato paste

water

pasta sauce (jarred

tomatoes (canned, do not drain)

Worcestershire sauce

mushrooms (canned, do not drain)

Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon seasoning salt (or

pasta shells (uncooked)

Brown ground beef, onions and garlic until no pink remains. Drain any fat.

Add ground beef mixture to CrockPot. Add all remaining ingredients except the uncooked shells.

Cook on High for 2 hours or low for 4-5 hours.

Prepare shells al dente according to package directions.&nbsp; Drain well and stir into meat sauce. Cover and cook an additional 10 minutes to heat through.

Healthy American Chop Suey {Goulash or Slumgullion}

whole wheat rotini, fusilli

garlic,

carrots,

celery,

peeled,

olive oil

Bison beef

salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper

dry red wine

Meanwhile, fit food processor with steel blade attachment, close lid and turn motor on. Drop garlic through feed spout and continue processing until the garlic is minced. Open lid and add carrot and celery. Process until the carrot and celery are finely chopped. Open lid, add onion and pulse until the onion is roughly chopped. Alternatively, use a knife to mince garlic, finely chop carrot and celery and dice onion.

Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Crumble in bison or beef, and cook, stirring and breaking up chunks of meat until browned, 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in the vegetable mixture, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are cooked down and browned slightly, 8 to 12 minutes. Pour in wine and cook until mostly evaporated, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in tomato and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to maintain simmer and cook, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, once the water boils, cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain.

Mix the pasta and sauce together and serve sprinkled with parsley.

Healthy American Chop Suey

Instant Pot Goulash with ground beef or turkey, diced tomatoes, pasta, and melty cheese is a 30 minute one pot meal entire family will love. This is American goulash or American Chop Suey that is perfect for busy weeknights!

Instant Pot Goulash {30 Minute One Pot Meal}

ground turkey or beef

onion

garlic

tbsp rosemary (dried)

garlic powder

onion powder

tsp smoked paprika

paprika

black pepper (to taste)

bay leaves

soy sauce (I use Bragg's liquid aminos)

any stock/broth (low sodium)

13 oz elbow macaroni (I use whole wheat)

28 oz can diced tomatoes (low sodium)

tomato sauce (low sodium)

cheddar or marble cheese (shredded)

Press Saute on 6 or 8 quart Instant Pot and wait until display says Hot. Takes about 4-5 mins.

Add ground meat and cook until small pieces, breaking with spatula constantly. Instant Pot doesn&#039;t really brown the meat and it doesn&#039;t have to be cooked through. Press Cancel.

Add onion, garlic, rosemary, garlic and onion powders, smoked and regular paprika, salt, pepper, bay leaves, soy sauce, stock, pasta, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Do not stir.

Close the lid, set valve to Sealing and press Pressure Cook on High or Manual for 4 minutes.

After, release pressure using Quick Release by turning valve to Venting right away after cooking.

Open the lid, add cheese and stir well.

Serve warm.

Heat the butter in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onions, green bell pepper, and garlic and saute until the softened, about 8-10 minutes. Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper and continue to cook, crumbling the beef with a spoon, until there is no longer any pink in the beef, &nbsp;about 5-6 minutes.

Add tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes with their juices, water, Worcestershire Sauce, paprika, sugar, and dried Italian seasoning and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the pasta, partially cover, and simmer until pasta is al dente, about 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle top with Mozzarella, cover and cook on low for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to rest, covered for about 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley if desired and serve.

Fill a large pot with water, salt the water and bring to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions. *You can either finish cooking the pasta and leave it in a colander and use the same pot for the sauce or you can start making the&nbsp;rest of the recipe in a separate pot while the pasta is cooking.&nbsp;

In a separate pot or the one from the pasta (see note above), add the butter and onion to the pot and saute, stirring frequently, until the onions are translucent, about 4 minutes.&nbsp;

Add the garlic to the onions and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.&nbsp;

In Dutch oven or large skillet, over medium high heat, brown ground beef, onion, and green pepper, seasoning with salt and pepper. Break ground beef into smaller chunks as it browns. Cook until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are softened, about 10 minutes.

Add garlic and paprika, cooking and stirring for one minute, or until fragrant.

Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, and bay leaf; stir to combine. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Stir in uncooked macaroni.

Simmer

Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally. Add more broth, as needed.

Let set

Remove from heat, leave covered for 3 minutes. Goulash will thicken as it cools.

Serve

Remove bay leaf. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped parsley, if desired.
