What's the most necessary baked potato topping?

I actually prefer a modest amount of Ranch salad dressing on my baked potato & I'm not a Ranch fanatic-- I just prefer it for baked spuds.  If not Ranch- then good ole butta, salt & peppa.

I followed this recipe to the letter and the potato was not done!  I was hard as a rock and I had to place in the microwave to complete.  The one hour and five minute cooking time was way too short.

Yum!! I added some oil, salt, pepper, butter, cheddar cheese and sour cream. It was amazing 😍

Best Baked potatoe recipeI have ever tried. Baking the potatoes at 350 is perfect for a crispy skin and soft inside. Most other recipes say to bake at 400 but that makes the skin almost burnt and the inside is still a little too hard. Love this recipe for baking perfect baked potatoes!

Here's How To Make PERFECT Baked Potatoes

The perfect loaded baked potato, fluffy and creamy on the inside with crispy skin and packed with flavor from toppings like Greek Tzatziki sauce, olives, tomatoes, and feta!

Mediterranean Loaded Baked Potato Recipe

russet potatoes

Extra virgin olive oil

Black pepper

oregano

Greek Tzatziki Sauce (I use this recipe)

parsley flakes

tomato,

Greek olives

feta cheese

Wash and scrub the potatoes clean. Dry completely.

Poke holes all over the potato using a fork – about 5 to 6 times. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt, and prick them in several places with the tines of a fork. Arrange the potatoes on a baking sheet, and bake for 1 hour or until potatoes are super soft and fork-tender and the skin is nice and crisp (can take up to 75 minutes).

While the potatoes are baking, make the Tzatziki sauce according to this recipe, if using, and prepare the remaining toppings.

When the potatoes are ready, remove from the oven and set aside to rest for 5 minutes. Slice each open wide, and scoop the potato flesh out into a bowl. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, salt and pepper, and dried oregano. Mash with a fork.

Now, scoop the mashed potatoes back into the skins. Using your hands, reshape the potatoes if needed, then top with the Tzatziki sauce and the remaining Mediterranean toppings to your liking. Enjoy!

Spinach-Artichoke Baked Potatoes

russet potatoes, washed and scrubbed clean

vegetable oil

cream cheese, softened

sour cream

c. mozzarella

Parmesan cheese

c. baby spinach chopped

I made this recipe today and it was good.  I love artichoke and spinach.  However I did not have any mozzarella or parmesan cheese....so I substituted with shredded Mexican Four Cheese (Kraft).  I will say that it could use a lift with some enhanced flavors....Any recommendations please pass them on....but I will make this again.

I love this idea, but the recipe needs help, like maybe butter on potato first, then a better spinach artichoke mix, next time I'm gonna make my dip and put it in this, and the potatoes took a lot longer to cook than this recipe and I followed it to a T

These oven baked potatoes are perfectly cooked with a crispy outside and fluffy inside. The perfect simple and inexpensive side dish that can be customized with any number of toppings, and pairs perfectly with chicken, beef and seafood.

Oven Baked Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Coat a sheet pan with cooking spray.

Scrub the potatoes under cold running water. Prick the potatoes all over with a fork or paring knife.

Place the potatoes on the sheet pan. Brush the olive oil all over the potatoes, then season the potatoes generously with salt.

Place the pan in the oven. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until skins are crisp and insides are tender.

Let potatoes cool for 5 minutes. Cut a slit down the center of each potato and pull the sides back. Fluff the insides of the potatoes with a fork.

Add toppings as desired, then serve.

This was such a simple recipe for baked potatoes and they turned out perfectly in the oven! Made a great side dish for our dinner tonight!

Gooey and cheesy, these crispy smashed potatoes are fabulous as-is, or you can top them with bacon, sour cream, and chopped chives!

Smashed Potatoes With Cheese

red potatoes (however many you'd like)

shredded cheese of your choice (cheddar, fontina, etc.)

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Boil the potatoes: Fill a pot with water, add a little salt, and bring to a boil. When the water is boiling, add as many potatoes as you&#39;d like. See note above about microwaving the potatoes instead.

Cook the potatoes until you can easily pierce them with a fork. Drain and set aside.

 Prepare a rimmed baking sheet by greasing it with olive oil or lining it with parchment paper.

Place each potato on the baking sheet, leaving a few inches between each potato.

Use a potato masher or the bottom side of a drinking glass to gently smash the potato so that it is mostly flat.

Brush each potato with olive oil and liberally salt with kosher salt, and sprinkle with black pepper.

Bake the potatoes in the oven for 18 minutes.

Remove potatoes from the oven and sprinkle any cheese of your choice on top. I used a combination of cheddar and fontina because I had both on hand.

Return the potatoes back to the oven and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

I literally can eat this every single day. So SO good.

These loaded baked potatoes will be a tasty and healthy alternative to the usual (broccoli, cheese, bacon, sour cream), and I'll be trying this for Thursday dinner.

One thing I've found that helps speed up the baking time without sacrificing quality (crispy skin and fluffy flesh) is to start them in the microwave and finish them in the oven. I'll cook them in the microwave for about 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway, which jump-starts the cheating process, and then finish for about 1/2 hour in a 375 degree oven. Tuna Stuffed Baked Potatoes, twice baked or double baked as they are sometimes known, are such a budget friendly and versatile meal.

Tuna Stuffed Baked Potatoes

Potatoes (russet)

Cream cheese

g Mature cheddar (grated; for the filling)

g Mature cheddar (grated; for the topping)

Sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)

110 g Tuna (canned; drained)

tbsp Sweetcorn

salt black pepper

Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C(fan)/350°F/Gas 4.

Pierce the skins of 2 Potatoes several times. Put the potatoes into the oven and baked for 60-90 minutes, until they are easily pierced with a fork. Slice the potatoes in half and scoop out the insides and put it into a bowl.

Add 4 tbsp Cream cheese, 25 g Mature cheddar, 6 Sun-dried tomatoes, 110 g Tuna, 4 tbsp Sweetcorn and 1 pinch Sea salt and ground black pepper to the bowl with the potatoes and mix well.

Divide the mixture between the potato skins and top with 25 g Mature cheddar.

Put them back in the oven for 15 minutes until the cheese has melted.

These are so delicious and I love that you can swap the fillings around too.
