Delicious Soy marinated eggs, perfect for a warming bowl of Ramen soup, for other noodle and rice dishes or even as a snack. A delicious blend of soy sauce, mirin, garlic and ginger for wonderfully sweet and salty, divinely marinated eggs!

Soy-Marinated Ramen Eggs

Carefully prick the large end of the eggs with a needle or an egg piercer.  This will allow the air to escape the shell to give you a smooth, rounded end to your egg.

Bring plenty of water to boil and add 1 tBsp white vinegar. This will help make the eggs easier to peel, which is crucial to a perfect 'aesthetical' marinated egg. The marinade will cling to any imperfections in the egg otherwise, making them obvious. 

Carefully dip the eggs in the boiling water and boil for exactly 6 minutes. Timing is critical to keep a slightly runny yolk.*

First, slice 3 pieces of ginger and chop or smash the garlic. **

Heat up the soy sauce and mirin sauce together with the sugar, garlic and ginger. Keep on the heat for a couple minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture caramelises a bit.

Turn off the heat and add 1.5 cups of water. Remove the ginger and garlic. ***

Carefully peel the eggs. To have a perfect egg white surface, gently tap the egg against a hard surface to break the shell in multiple spots and they'll be easier to peel. 

Transfer the eggs to a glass container and cover them with the soy sauce mixture. Marinate for a minimum of 3 hours ( This can be done at room temperature, although any longer then I'd transfer them to the fridge).

In as little as 3 hours, you get marinated, slightly coloured eggs with a runny gooey yolk. You can then either remove the eggs and store them in the fridge for up to 4 days. Alternatively, leave the eggs in the marinade in the fridge.These are now ready to add to your favourite dishes or eat as a snack. I love to enjoy them with a warming bowl of ramen.

As soon as 6 minutes are over, place the eggs in ice water ( an ice bath) for 4-5 minutes. Alternatively, you can run cold water over them for a minute or two ( until the eggs are completely cooled down). This is crucial to stop the cooking process and keep the egg yolk creamy. To Prepare The Marinade:

My foolproof method for cooking both hard boiled eggs and soft boiled eggs (perfectly) is placing them gently in a pot of boiling water. Watch the video above to see my easy, step-by-step process.

Hard Boiled Eggs Recipe (and Soft Boiled Eggs)

Bring a medium-sized pot of water to a boil. Ensure there's enough water in the pot to cover the eggs by about an inch.

While you're waiting for the water to boil, remove the eggs from the fridge (set them on the counter) and prepare ice water bath in a large bowl.

Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and use skimmer to gently and slowly add the eggs to the water. Then, turn the heat back up to a boil.

Set a timer and cook the eggs for 6-7 minutes for soft boiled eggs and 12-14 minutes for hard boiled eggs. See the cook time notes above.

Once the eggs have cooked to your preferred time, use the skimmer to remove the eggs and immediately submerge them in the ice water bath to stop them from cooking.

Peel the eggs and enjoy.

<em>These creamy deviled eggs are loved by both young and old, so make you sure make plenty of them.  They are great as an appetizer or as a side with the main meal.  Either way, they disappear quickly!</em>

Classic Deviled Eggs

Slice the eggs lengthwise and place on a serving tray. Using a small spoon, gently remove the egg yolks from the egg whites and place the yolks in a medium bowl.

Mash the egg yolks with a fork or pastry blender, making sure to mash out all lumps.   Add the salad dressing, mustard, pepper, salt, and sugar and mix until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is very creamy.

Transfer the egg filling to a pastry bag, fitted with your choice of piping tip, and pipe the egg filling into the egg whites. (You can spoon the mixture into the egg whites if you don&#8217;t have a pastry bag or tip).

Sprinkle paprika over the tops of the eggs.

Refrigerate until ready to serve or serve right away.

How To Make Hard Boiled Eggs: Two Ways

Fill a large pot with enough to cover the eggs by 1-inch once added.

Bring water to a low boil around 200°F (93°C) and then carefully place eggs in the hot water.

Boil the eggs for 30 seconds, place the lid on the pot and reduce heat to low.

Cook eggs on a low simmer for 12 minutes.

In a medium-sized bowl add 4 cups ice and 4 cups water to make an ice bath.

Once the eggs are done cooking immediately transfer them to the ice bath to chill for 15 minutes.

Gently crack the sides and bottom of the egg shell and peel. Run under cool water to remove any excess shells.

Hard Boiled Eggs (Boiled)

In a large pot add 1-inch of water.

Place steamer inside the pot, place cover on, and bring water to a boil.

Once steam is formed, carefully use tongs to place the eggs in the steamer basket.

Cover the pot and steam eggs for 13 minutes.

Once the eggs are done cooking immediately add them to the ice bath and chill for 15 minutes.

Japanese-inspired Ramen Noodle Soup

(Options: any of the vegetables can be omitted or replaced

In a large pot, heat up the sesame oil and soy sauce over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger and stir fry them for a minute, to begin to soften. 

Add the veggies and mushrooms and carefully stir. Pour in a bit of water if the pot is too dry.

Close the lid so the veggies can steam nicely for about 2-3 minutes. They might come out a little crispy/hard so if you like them more tender, just cook them for a couple of extra minutes. 

Warm up your homemade vegetable stock and season with salt or soy sauce. Note* In the original stock recipe I don&#039;t include any salt specifically so it can be seasoned to match each recipe. Here I would definitely suggest giving the stock a splash of soy sauce along with some salt- it&#039;s delicious.* 

Prepare the ramen noodles according to the packet instructions. I usually place them directly into my broth for the required cooking time then remove it from the heat. 

Pour the vegetable stock in a deep bowl and add the noodles then add the cooked veggies. 

Top with some chilli and spring onions (optionally) . Add a wedge of lime too (which is the perfect garnish for this broth).

Add a homemade soft boiled soy-marinated egg. Sprinkle with black sesame seeds and enjoy!

How To Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

Cover the eggs in a saucepan with water

Place eggs in a large saucepan. Cover them with cool water by 1 inch.

Boil the eggs

Cover with a lid and bring water to a boil over high heat; when the water has reached a full rolling boil, reduce the heat to medium-high and set the timer for the desired time. Boil for 6 - 7 minutes over medium-high heat for perfect hard-boiled eggs.

Transfer to a bowl with cold water

Using a slotted spoon, transfer them to a large bowl of ice water and let them cool for a few minutes. Or you can place them under cool running water to stop the cooking.

Peel the eggs

Peel and serve the eggs immediately. You can sprinkle some paprika or chives on top.

If it’s your first time, don’t do a huge batch at once! All air fryers, especially different sizes, cook slightly differently. Cook a test batch first of maybe 1-2 eggs. It’s trial and error at first and after that, you’ll know exactly what the best time and temp is in your air fryer model and the size of your eggs.&nbsp;This timing is for large eggs. If you’re using small, medium or jumbo eggs, adjust your time! Also, please read all our tips on the recipe write up page. Also, also, it’s easy to make a mistake and set the temperature too high! Make sure it’s at 270°F and NOT 370°F.

Air Fryer Hard "Boiled" Eggs Recipe

Place eggs in basket. Air fry at 270°F for 15-18 minutes. Set your timer! While eggs are cooking, fill a bowl with ice water.

When eggs are finished, immediately place them in the ice bath for about 5 minutes.

Peel the eggs. If it’s hard peeling, try peeling them under water. If you want your eggs more or less cooked, adjust your timing next time. Enjoy!

Perfect Boiled Eggs (Every Time)

Place cold eggs in a large 3-quart stainless steel saucepan and cover with cold water so water is 1&quot; above the surface of the eggs. With the lid off, bring to a rolling boil over high heat.

Once at a boil, reduce heat to keep at a medium boil and set a timer for your desired doneness (see chart below). 

Prepare your ice water bath and as soon as the timer is done, transfer eggs into ice water so they are fully submerged. Refrigerate eggs once cool and peel when ready to use.

Fill pot with COLD water until there is about 1&quot; - 2&quot; of water above the eggs. Add salt and baking soda. Bring water to a boil. Once water is boiling, reduce heat to medium and boil for about 1 minute. Cover pot and remove from heat. Let sit, covered, for another 10 minutes.

Strain water from pot and put eggs in an ice-water bath until the eggs are cool to the touch, about 10 minutes.

Plug the Instant Pot into power and turn it on. Add a cup of cold water to the bottom of the pot and place the trivet on top with the handles facing up for easier removal. Gently, place the eggs on top of the trivet. Make sure they don&#8217;t touch the water, stack them if you&#8217;re doing a larger batch.

Secure and lock the lid; make sure the pressure handle is pointing to Sealing on Duo Classic.

Select Manual/Pressure Cook and adjust the timer to recommended minutes below on HIGH pressure. After a few beeps/seconds, the ON sign will come on indicating the pot is heating up and the pressure is building; pressurizing will take about 5 minutes and then the set timer will begin.

Once the timer is done, use a quick release to let off the built-up pressure. If you leave the pot to release naturally for any amount of time (let&#8217;s say you forget), the eggs will continue to cook at a much slower rate, so you might end up with slightly more cooked yolks and whites. A few minutes of natural release should be fine but do keep that in mind.

Open the lid and carefully remove the eggs using a towel or tongs. Immediately place in a pot with very cold water for a minute or so or run under very cold water. This will ensure the eggs are easy to peel.

I love 'jammy' eggs! Thanks for the tips. I found a recipe for hard boiled that is super easy. Pile in you eggs above the water line. Set for 1 minute low pressure and natural release for 15 minutes. If you get busy and forget or can't get there it's okay a little longer won't hurt a thing.

Perfectly described and easy to follow, this is the deviled egg/boiled egg recipe for the InstantPot, IMHO! I tried six eggs, in case I ruined them and had six more to cook if needed. We are basically at 1,200 feet above sea level, I used one cup of water stacking my strainer baskets bought for the 6qt InstantPot. They worked perfectly as trivets. Cooled water in the freezer beforehand as I was out of ice, cooked 12 minutes and used a rapid release. Then used tongs to remove baskets and eggs, putting eggs in cold water.
