Subway Sensational Seafood Salad

1- 1.5 lb Imitation Crab

mayonnaise

sour cream

Salt & Pepper

Optional-

tsp dill

lemon juice

Remove crab from package and separate flakes

Chop and shred the crab in a large...

Add all other ingredients and mix well.

Refrigerate 2-3 hours or overnight to blend flavors.

Crab Salad

Serving suggestions: Toasted hot dog rolls

In a medium bowl, lightly toss the crabmeat, celery, chives, and tarragon together. 

In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, and mustard. Add the dressing to the crabmeat mixture and stir until just coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If not using right away refrigerate until ready to serve. 

Serve on toasted rolls or on a bed of lettuce.

This was great.  I added the zest from one lemon to the mix and served in pea pods as an app. I get requests to make this more often.

Really good! Just enough flavor and mayo to add to the crab. Didn't take away any of the crab's delicate flavor. I did add more lemon juice, and substituted dry tarragon &amp; chives since I didn't have fresh. Came out fine.

I needed a quick impromptu dinner for my family, looked in my pantry and saw a couple cans of crab meat.  This salad recipe made for a great crab-wich on toasted sourdough.  The only thing I would do differently next time is use good quality crab meat; even though I bought the "expensive" canned stuff, I just couldn't completely rinse out that overwhelming "fishy" taste.  Not the fault of this recipe, though.  In fact, this recipe made the crab I had on hand worth eating.  Excellent.

And this pairs well with Emeril's Corn &amp; Jalapeno Relish!

The puff pastry is a great idea the other idea use them like a spanakopita and serve them in a filo dough then triangles. This is a great recipe I use as a base and utilize the recipe changing it up for different events.

This is excellent.  I used basil instead of tarragon because I had it in my herb garden.  Used scallions since I did not have chives.  Served on a bed of lettuce lightly drizzled with an aged thick balsamic.   Really excellent - very forgiving recipe.  

Tasty and easy!   Will definitely keep making this recipe.

You can also make it with imitation crab meat. Add about one teaspoon of pink salt. It is super yummy and easy.

Spicy kani salad is a refreshing, creamy dish made from crab sticks and cucumber. It takes less than 10 minutes to make, is inexpensive, and is both sweet and spicy from the dressing. Add deep fried tempura bits for crunch and tobiko for a pop of texture! You will make this on repeat!

Spicy Kani Salad

Kewpie (Japanese mayonnaise)

mirin

Sriracha

¾ lb kani (imitation crab sticks (about 8 sticks))

½ small cucumber (julienned

Tbsp tobiko (plus more for serving)

Tbsp tempura bits

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, then whisk to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more Sriracha if you want more heat, a few drops at a time. Set aside.

To make kani salad dressing

Use fingers or two forks to pull apart and shred crab sticks, then place in a large bowl.

Spoon all except 2 Tbsp of dressing on top of shredded kani, then toss to combine.

Add tobiko and tempura bits, then toss and taste salad. If you want more dressing, add remaining 2 Tbsp. If you want it spicier, add a bit more Sriracha to dressing, whisk to combine, then toss with kani salad.

Place shredded cucumber on a serving plate, then top with spicy kani salad. Add a little extra tobiko and/or tempura bits on top, then serve immediately.

To make salad

This crab salad is a blend of imitation crab, vegetables and herbs, all tossed in a simple creamy dressing. A quick and easy salad that's perfect served over lettuce, with crackers, or in a sandwich.

Crab Salad Recipe

eggs,

lb imitation crab meat, (roughly chopped)

corn kernels,

swiss cheese ((cut into small dice) 8 slices = 1/2 cup diced)

celery

chives ((or green onion))

garlic, pressed

tbsp grain mustard ((optional))

Chop: Hardboil eggs, meanwhile work on the rest of the ingredients while the eggs are cooking. Then, submerge in cold water to cool. Peel and dice the eggs. Roughly chop the imitation crab meat. Cut the celery and swiss cheese into small dice. Finely chop the chives or green onion. Add all cut up ingredients to a bowl, then add the drained corn kernels.

Mix: In a small bowl whisk all ingredients for the dressing (mayonnaise, pressed or minced garlic and mustard if using), then add to the rest of the salad ingredients and thoroughly mix.

Store in the refrigerator, covered until ready to serve.

This seafood salad is a blend of imitation crab and shrimp in a creamy dill dressing with fresh vegetables. An easy high protein lunch option that takes just minutes to make!

Seafood Salad

imitation crab meat (flaked style

shrimp

lemon (quartered)

celery (finely diced)

red onion (minced)

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the quartered lemon.

Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 1-2 minutes or until pink and opaque. Transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

Drain the shrimp then pat dry.

Place the shrimp, imitation crab, celery, red onion, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, pepper, mayonnaise and dill in a bowl. Toss gently to coat.

Garnish with additional fresh dill and serve, or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Soft-Shell Crab Salad with Green Goddess Dressing

lemon, juiced

garlic cloves,

anchovy

flat-leaf parsley

Sea salt and black pepper

buttermilk

crab boil seasoning

crabs,

Vegetable oil,

all-purpose flour

watercress,

bibb lettuce, trimmed and hand torn

red onion, sliced

To make the green goddess dressing: Simply puree the ingredients together in a blender, until light green and creamy. Cover and stick the dressing in the fridge to allow the flavors to come together.

To prepare the soft-shell crabs: Pour the buttermilk in a shallow bowl large enough to hold all the crabs. Season the buttermilk with crab boil seasoning, salt, and pepper. Lay the crabs in the buttermilk mixture and marinate, covered, in the refrigerator for 1 hour; soaking the crabs in buttermilk helps plump them up when cooked. Remove the crabs from the milk bath and let the excess drip off.

Pour 2 inches of oil in a heavy frying pan or large pot and heat to 350 degrees F.

Put the flour in a pie dish or plate and season with a fair amount of salt and pepper. Dredge the crabs in the seasoned flour to coat, shaking off the excess. Lay the crabs in the hot oil in a single layer without crowding; you may have to fry them in batches. Be careful, the crabs have a tendency to pop and spatter. Cook the crabs for about 3 minutes on each side, turning once, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

To assemble the salad: combine the watercress, lettuce, and onion slices in a mixing bowl. Pour in 1/2 cup of the green goddess dressing, tossing to coat. Arrange the salad on a serving platter, put the fried crabs on top, and grate the hard boiled egg over the whole thing. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve immediately.

An amazing salad! The dressing is perfect. Making it again this weekend.

I cook a lot, but have never made soft shell crabs. This recipe was easy, and the crabs turned out delicious. The only thing I would change the second time around would be to put less garlic in the dressing. It was a little too much for me. Everything else was perfect.

Break imitation crab meat into small pieces with hands, or coarsely chop with a knife. You can also coarsely chop in a blender or food processor.

Finely chop the celery. This gives the crab salad a little crunch, but not too much. Toss crab, celery, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl.

Stir in mayonnaise and lemon until crab is evenly coated.

Chop the crab into smaller pieces and prepare as directed above. Serve with chips, club crackers, or Ritz crackers.

For Crab Dip:

Add 2-3 cups of cooked and cooled shaped pasta. Stir until well mixed.

For Crab Pasta Salad:

Place crab salad on Hawaiian-style rolls and serve!

For Crab Salad Sandwiches/Sliders:

Slice an avocado in half and remove the seed. Place crab in the hole from the seed. Season with pepper.

For Crab Stuffed Avocado:

Peel and slice a cucumber. Scoop out seeds and replace with crab. Top with Sriracha, spicy mayo, and furikake or sesame seeds.
