This truly is the Best Christmas Ham Recipe!  A most tender ham is the result from baking in a delicious honey-brown sugar-butter-and-orange juice glaze...divine!  And perfect for the holidays.

Best Christmas Ham Recipe

water or ginger ale

tbsp mustard

Using a sharp knife, score the the top of the ham diagonally, with the lines about 1 inch apart.  Don’t score too deep, the lines should only be a at the most about 1/4 inch deep.  (See the pictures above)

Add about 1/2 cup water or ginger ale to the bottom of the pan.  I use ginger ale because I really like the extra bit of sweetness it adds.

Cover the ham with tin foil and bake for approximately 1 1/2 hours.

While it&#8217;s baking you can make the glaze to add later.

BAKING THE HAM:

In a saucepan over low-medium heat, melt the butter.  Then stir in the brown sugar, honey, mustard, and orange juice. Cook until the sugar dissolves, stirring often.  Don&#8217;t let the mixture boil, you only want to gently dissolve the sugar.

When the glaze is done it should be slightly thick.  As it cools it will thicken more as well.

MAKING THE GLAZE:

After the 1 1/2 hours, take the ham out of the oven, and drizzle the glaze all over the top of the ham, and in all the crevices.

Remove the tin foil, and continue baking for about 30 minutes more.

When the ham is done baking, remove it from the oven and spoon the glaze all over the ham.

Then let the ham rest under tin foil for about 15 minutes before carving.

Spray the insert of the slow cooker with cooking spray. Unwrap the ham and place it flat side down into the slow cooker. 

In a saucepan, over medium-high heat, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and water. Heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. About 1-2 minutes. Pour the glaze over the ham. 

Cover with the lid and cook on LOW heat for 5-6 hours.&nbsp;* 3-4 times during the cook time, take a baster or a large spoon, and pour some of the glaze over top of the ham.&nbsp;

Take the ham out and place onto a serving plate. At the end of the cook time the slices of ham should be noticeable so take a knife and finish cutting the slices. Use the glaze from the slow cooker and pour some over the ham slices. Serve!

Pour the liquid from the slow cooker into a sauce pan. Set the heat to medium-high. Mix together the cornstarch + water and pour into the saucepan. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until it boils. Reduce heat and let simmer until desired thickness is reached. *As it sits off the heat it will thicken up more** If wanted, use a fine mesh strainer to strain the liquid before pouring it into the saucepan. This would make the gravy smooth with no fat chunks or anything it it. I prefer to do it this way.

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add the bacon; cook until crispy and then remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside. Add the sausage to the skillet, brown in the bacon fat, and then remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. Drain off excess fat from the skillet.

Add the onion, celery, and carrots to the skillet and cook until slightly softened, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the garlic and wine and deglaze the pan, using a wooden spoon to lift any of the browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Continue cooking until the wine is nearly evaporated.

Combine the cooked vegetables with the bacon, sausage, ham, white beans, thyme, stock, and tomatoes in a large bowl and gently stir together. Pour into a 3-quart oven-safe casserole dish or two smaller casserole dishes.

Heat the olive oil and garlic cloves in a small skillet over medium high heat until the garlic is fragrant, about a minute. Remove the garlic cloves and discard; stir in the breadcrumbs until they are coated evenly with olive oil.

Remove from the heat and combine with the parsley. Pour the breadcrumbs over the cassoulet and bake uncovered for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 325°F. Place the ham on its side in roasting pan. Mix honey, brown sugar and spices in small bowl until well blended. If mixture is too thick, microwave on HIGH 30 seconds to 1 minute or until smooth, stirring after 30 seconds. Brush 1/2 of the honey mixture over ham, gently separating the slices so mixture can reach middle of ham. Cover loosely with foil.

Prep the instant pot.

Pour the cold water into the Instant Pot, then place the trivet inside. 

Make the glaze.

In a medium size bowl whisk together the pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey and ground cloves.

Prep the ham.

Place the ham on a large sheet of aluminium foil and fold up the sides to form a bowl around the ham. Place the ham with the aluminum foil inside the Instant Pot on top of the trivet. Pour the prepared glaze over the ham and inside the foil, then wrap the foil around the ham.

Pressure cook the ham.

Close the Instant Pot lid. Set the valve to sealing and set the Instant Pot to Manual/High Pressure for 2 minutes per pound of ham plus 10 minutes to account for the foil. My ham was 5 pounds, so I set mine to 20 minutes on high pressure.

Release the steam.

When the time is up, let the Instant Pot release naturally for 15 minutes then quick release remaining pressure.

Serve and enjoy.

Carefully remove the ham from the Instant Pot and place on a serving platter. Pour remaining glaze in the aluminum foil over the ham and serve.

Glaze the ham: Using a pastry brush, brush the glaze generously over the ham and in between the scored lines, but only use about a third of it.

Bake and glaze ham: Transfer the roasting pan in the oven. Bake for 2 hours or about 20 minutes per pound, brushing the ham with remaining glaze every 20 minutes. The ham is ready when the internal temperature of the ham registers at 145°F.

Finish glazing

Finish glazing: Take the ham out of the oven and baste it again with remaining glaze. Place the ham under the broiler for a few minutes to get some nice browning on top, if not browned enough.

(13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust

Preheat oven to 425F. Lightly spray a large baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.

Unroll dough onto a flat surface and lightly press down into a rectangle.
