In a large nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté until softened and translucent, stirring frequently, about 2-3 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add corn, heavy cream, sugar, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and nutmeg. Stir to combine and cook for about 1 minute.

In a measuring cup or bowl, thoroughly whisk together the milk and flour until flour is fully incorporated; slowly pour into the corn mixture and stir to combine. Cook, stirring constantly for 4-5 minutes, or until thickened and corn is cooked through.

Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.

Taste and adjust seasonings, if desired. Serve immediately while hot and still shiny with a little cracked black pepper and fresh chopped parsley.

Melt butter in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Whisk in the flour and cook, whisking, for about 1 ½ minutes. Whisk in the milk and cream until no lumps remain. Bring the milk to a simmer, stirring frequently until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Once the milk just starts to bubble in the center, stir in the corn and cheese.

Reduce the heat to medium and using an immersion blender, blend about half of the corn in the pan. (Alternatively, transfer half of the corn mixture to a blender or food processor and pulse the corn a few times. It doesn't have to be completely smooth.) Blending the corn will release the natural juice from the corn and add instant flavor to the dish. Stir the blended corn back into the pan and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot. Leftovers will reheat well the next day.

Combine the corn, heavy cream, milk, salt, sugar and pinch of red pepper together in a saucepan. Heat slowly and boil for 5 minutes over medium heat.

Whisk butter and flour together in a small bowl. Stir into the corn mixture until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Can serve immediately OR if desired, sprinkle with a little bit of shredded Parmesan cheese and broil until golden brown.

We love this topped with Parmesan cheese, but you can top it with bacon, black pepper, kosher salt, cheddar cheese, chives, jalapenos, or minced garlic! Garnish with fresh parsley if you&#39;d like!

Easy Vegan Creamed Corn

CASHEW MILK: Place water and cashews into a high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy.

CREAMED CORN: To a large rimmed skillet or saucepan, add cashew milk, frozen corn, vegan butter, maple syrup, sea salt, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer, about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, to a small bowl, add the flour and water and stir until incorporated. Once the corn mixture is gently bubbling, add in the flour-water mixture and stir well to combine. Heat the creamed corn over medium heat, stirring often, until it thickens — about 5-8 minutes. Taste and adjust as needed, adding more salt for overall flavor or black pepper to taste. If the mixture gets too thick, you can add water 1 Tbsp (15 ml) at a time until your desired consistency is reached.

Serve warm as a holiday side or enjoy alongside a bowl of chili or our Vegan Lentil Nut &quot;Meatloaf&quot;, Cashew-Crusted Cauliflower &quot;Steak,&quot; or BBQ Baked Beans.

Leftovers will keep stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave, heating in 30-second increments and adding more water if too thick.

another delicious recipe from the minimalist baker!  mine thickened pretty fast.  added more maple not that it needed it.  didn't have a measuring spoon so eyed it.  Now have to decide what to make with it.  maybe check out the cauliflower recipe you suggest.  Thanks again!

It's a very nice recipe indeed! Needed a recipe to work my way through our ten pots of canned corn. Used 2 for this recipe. I just leaked and pressed out the water and used it in the cashew milk! The first bite was a bit bland but when I ate more it actually got quite addictive! It's not a over the top amazing recipe but it's nice and I think I'll make it more often. Maybe in some years when I have kids I will make it for them (with a little less pepper). All in all thank you for this recipe, again!

Homemade Southern Creamed Corn made completely from scratch. This classic southern side dish is sweet, creamy, and a perfect addition to any dinner.

tbsp bacon grease

tbsp all purpose flour

tsp salt

Peel back the corn husk, and remove the corn silk as well.

Rinse the corn under cool water, then cut the corn from the cob, using a sharp knife.

Pour 2 tbsp of bacon grease into a large pan, then place the pan over medium heat.

Once the grease is nice and hot, toss in the corn, and cook it until it is nice and tender.

Sprinkle in 1 tbsp of all purpose flour, and stir.

Pour in 1/2 cup of half &amp;half, and stir until everything is well incorporated.

Sprinkle in the salt, pepper, and sugar.

Stir, and let cook until the creamed corn thickens to your preference.

Serve and enjoy!

Creamed corn is a classic and comforting dish that brings together the sweetness of corn and the creaminess of a rich sauce.

Canned Corn (drained)

tbsp Unsalted Butter

tbsp All Purpose Flour

Heavy Cream

Salt

tsp Ground Black pepper

tsp Granulated Suagr

In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the corn kernels to the pan and sauté them for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become tender.

Sprinkle the flour over the corn and stir well to coat the kernels evenly. Cook for another minute to cook out the raw flour taste.

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously to combine it with the corn and flour mixture. Stir until the mixture thickens slightly, usually around 3-4 minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and let the corn simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it reaches your desired consistency. If you prefer a creamier texture, you can use a potato masher or the back of a spoon to mash some of the corn kernels gently.

Season the creamed corn with salt, pepper, and sugar (if desired), adjusting the amounts to taste.

Once the creamed corn is ready, remove it from the heat and transfer it to a serving dish.

Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or chives, if desired, for added freshness and presentation.
