Quick &amp; Easy Iced Tea

Simmer water.Bring 4 cups of water to a simmer and turn off heat. Simmer water on the stovetop or use an electric kettle. Set the water temperature to 190°F when using the electric kettle.

Put tea sachets in pitcher and add hot water.Cut paper tags off the sachets and submerge the entire sachet in water.

Steep for 5 minutes. Discard tea sachets.

Stir sugar into hot tea until completely dissolved.Use any type of sugar you like. The smaller the sugar, the faster it&#039;ll dissolve in the hot tea.

Add ice to pitcher and close with leakproof lid. Shake for 15 seconds.You can hold both ends of the pitcher and just turn it upside down 15 times. The ice will start melting right away, cooling the hot tea.

Pour tea into cups with ice.Optional: Garnish with lemon slices or mint leaves.

1. Mix ⅓ of an apple liquor bottle and ⅓ of a whiskey bottle in each shot glass.  2. Fill with iced tea. Add honey straw if needed. Stir with a chopstick.

A simple DIY for 3-ingredient homemade tapioca pearls (aka boba) - including how to cook tapioca pearls and a delicious brown sugar bubble milk tea recipe.

Homemade Boba 'Tapioca Pearls' Bubble Milk Tea

tapioca flour (plus a bit more for dusting)

tbsp brown sugar (use Taiwanese brown sugar AKA 'black sugar', if possible)

tBsp water

tBsp brown sugar (soft)

almond milk (or any other milk

Heat up the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until all the sugar has dissolved. Then turn off the heat.

Add about 1 tablespoon of the tapioca flour and stir until well combined. Make sure there are no lumps.

Turn the heat on again and stir the mixture until it starts thickening. Once it becomes thicker, remove from the heat.

Add the rest of the tapioca flour and mix well until you obtain a sticky dough.

On a lightly floured surface (floured with tapioca flour), knead the dough until it becomes uniform, soft and elastic. Tapioca dough can be very sticky, so add some extra flour, if needed.

Roll the dough* into thin long rod-like pieces. Each roll needs to be quite thin, as the tapioca pearls will expand when cooked later on.

Cut the rolls into small pieces. Then quickly roll each into a ball. **Repeat with the rest of the dough. Now you have your dried tapioca pearls ready. ***

DIY Tapioca Pearls (Boba)

In a large saucepan, boil enough water to cover your boba. Then add the tapioca pearls to the boiling water (carefully, so you don't splash yourself). Stir well, so they don’t stick to the bottom of the or each other.

Cover the pot with a lid. Boil for 20 minutes, then let them rest for another 20 minutes. Finally, drain the boba.You can now either add them to your favourite tea or milk drink or first make a sugar syrup for an extra special treat. I definitely suggest going for the extra next step though, as this takes the pearls from being 'nice' to 'more please' - adding a caramel-like flavour and softening the texture. 

How To Cook Tapioca Pearls

For a traditional boba, then a black tea base is the norm. However, you can also use a variety of herbal teas, flavoured milks and even juices/smoothies as your drink base. If making a tea then simply steep the tea bags/tea leaves in warm milk (alternatively, make a tea as you would typically in the water, adding milk to dilute) and leave this to chill in the fridge until you want to use it. For my recipe, I decided to use Bantha Milk AKA &#039;Blue Milk&#039;, as my base. This drink is a sweet butterfly pea flower and lavender coconut milk (inspired by the Star Wars blue milk) and the combination of flavours with the pearls is delicious. 

How To Make Bubble Milk Tea:

To make the tapioca peals with brown sugar syrup, warm up the brown sugar over medium heat for a couple of minutes. The sugar only needs to be warmed up, not completely melted.

Add the boba and stir well to coat all the pearls with the sugar.

Add the warm sugary boba to a cup or glass (use a glass for a great visual effect) and roll the cup/glass to coat the walls with melted sugar.

Then add ice cubes (optional) and your liquid - the cold brew tea/ iced tea, flavoured milk, juice or smoothie. You can also top it with some whipped cream and then serve.

Make Ahead Iced Tea Concentrate

Place 2 cups of water in a jar. Add the tea bags making sure to keep the paper tags out of the water. Screw on the lid tightly. Place in a bright sunny spot for 4-6 hours.

Unscrew the lid and remove the tea bags, gently squeezing to remove excess liquid. Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for up to a week. When it is time to serve add the concentrate and 14 cups water to a gallon sized pitcher. Serve over ice.

Place 2 cups of water in a pan. Heat water until it is almost boiling. Turn off heat and add the tea bags making sure to keep the paper tags out of the water. Allow to steep for 1-2 hours.

Remove the tea bags, gently squeezing to remove excess liquid. Pour into a glass jar. Put the lid back on and store in the refrigerator for up to a week. When it is time to serve add the concentrate and 14 cups water to a gallon sized pitcher. Serve over ice.

How to make fresh mint tea with mint leaves, lemon, and honey (vegan optional) in under 10 minutes. It can be served warm or iced for either a soothing or bright and refreshing, healthful caffeine-free herbal tea. This honey citrus mint tea is also super versatile - keep reading for all my favorite variations.

Fresh Mint Tea (Honey Citrus Mint Tea + Flavor Variations)

Wash the mint leaves well, especially when freshly picked from an outdoor plant.

Add the leaves and water to a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-low heat, allowing it to boil for 2 minutes before turning off the heat.Alternatively, you can boil the water in a kettle and pour it directly over the leaves in your mug/teapot, leaving it to steep for several minutes. However, I don’t find the flavor infuses as much this way.

Allow it to steep for a further minute or two before transferring to a teapot or mug with a few slices of lemon and a drizzle of honey (best added after the tea cools slightly). Enjoy!The longer you steep the tea, the stronger it will become. I usually enjoy my first cup after the above. The second cup is then more robust, and the third is even more so (and usually requires a little extra drizzle of honey or can be diluted with some ice cubes/ water and turned into an iced version).

After steeping the tea, transfer it to the fridge to chill for 2-3 hours (or overnight). Then serve over ice with a few fresh mint leaves.

For Fresh Mint Iced Tea

How to make peach iced tea at home with just three ingredients and in under 30 minutes. This fruity peach tea is a delicious and refreshing drink during peach season (or all year round), using a homemade peach syrup for an iced tea that can even be made sugar-free.

How To Make Peach Iced Tea

lb peaches (3 large ones)

sugar (granulated sugar

water (needed if the peaches are not too juicy)

Tbsp black tea

water (needed to make the tea)

Prepare the tea. If you&#39;re using loose leaf tea, you can use a tea strainer ball or make a little cloth parcel. Alternatively, you can use teabags.

Add the tea (black or green) and hot water to a large jug and allow it to steep while preparing the remainder of the peach iced tea.Be careful to use a heat-proof jug at this point. Thin glass jugs can explode if boiling water is added to them.

Step 1: Prepare the tea

Wash the peaches well and cut them into slices. I leave the skin on as it helps with the color and reduces waste.

Add the sliced peaches to a large saucepan or skillet and heat over medium heat to soften.

Add your sugar of choice (unless you’re using honey, which is best when kept raw), If the peaches aren’t very juicy, I recommend adding a cup of water to help dissolve the sugar and prepare the syrup. I don’t add water only if the peaches are super juicy.

Use a potato masher (or fork, though it will take longer) to mash the peaches.

Bring the mixture to a soft boil while mashing the peaches and allow to boil for a minute.

Once all the sugar is fully dissolved, it’s time to strain the syrup. I like to allow it 5-10 minutes to &quot;infuse&quot; and cool down slightly first, though.Then transfer the mashed peach mixture to a sieve and press with a spatula to get out as much of the syrupy juice as possible.Don&#39;t throw away the leftover pulp. This can be used to prepare peach leather or add to smoothies, overnight oats, over ice cream, yogurt/granola bowls, etc. Sometimes, I just spread it over some bread with a dollop of yogurt (delicious!).

Step 2: Prepare the peach syrup

Remove the tea bags/parcel from the tea and then add the syrup, stirring well. If you&#39;re serving it all immediately, then add ice directly to the jug. Otherwise, I recommend adding the ice to individual glasses so you don’t water down the entire batch of peach iced tea.

Optionally add some extra peach slices and herbs (like fresh mint) for serving.

Step 3: Combine the peach iced tea

Make ahead: You can prepare and store the peach syrup for the tea in the fridge for between 7-10 days. You can then make individual cups too – prepare one cup of black or green tea, allow to cool, then add 1 tbsp of the syrup to begin, increasing to personal taste (then serve with ice). You can also store the syrup in an ice cube tray in the freezer for 2-3 months.Store: Once prepared, store the peach iced tea in the fridge, covered, for up to 4 days. Make sure not to add the ice directly to the pitcher; otherwise, it will become watered down.

How to Store Peach Iced Tea?

Refreshing Lemon Iced Tea made with lemon juice and black tea is the perfect drink for summer. It&#39;s wonderfully easy to prepare this Ice Tea Recipe and can be made in just about 10 minutes (without the cooling and refrigerating time).

Iced Tea Recipe | Lemon Iced Tea

black tea powder

sugar (- can also add ¼ cup to ⅓ cup sugar for a less sweet taste)

lemon juice (- can add less

ice cubes (as required)

lemon (- few, for garnish, optional)

In a pan pour about water.

Heat the pan on a medium flame and let the water come to a boil.&nbsp;

Once the water comes to a boil, turn off the heat and add 2 tablespoons black tea powder. 

Add sugar.  Mix very well.

Let the tea leaves steep in the water for 4 to 5 minutes. For a lighter tea flavor, you can steep for 2 to 3 minutes. If using green tea, steep for 2 minutes.

After the tea is steeped in the hot water, then add 3 tablespoons lemon juice. For a more lemony taste, you can opt to add 4 tablespoons lemon juice. 

Stir with a spoon. 

Then using a tea strainer, strain the lemon tea in a steel or glass jar. The glass jar should be able to handle the heat. 

Let the lemon tea cool at room temperature. Later you can chill it in the fridge.&nbsp;

Steeping tea

While serving, add 4 to 5 ice cubes in a glass or glasses. You can add less or more as per your preference. If using cold iced tea from the refrigerator, then you can skip adding ice cubes.

Also add 1 to 2 lemon slices. Adding lemon slices is optional.

Pour the lemon tea in the glass or glasses.

Garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint leaves. 

Serve Lemon Iced Tea immediately. While drinking do stir lemon iced tea with a stirrer or a spoon.

Making iced tea

If you are not planning to serve ice tea on the same day, then keep it in the fridge.

It keeps well for 2 to 3 days when refrigerated. Do not keep it outside as it may start to ferment.
