This Amish pot roast is packed full of flavor and loaded with mouth-watering juices! This is truly a downright delicious dinner recipe!

Amish Pot Roast

beef roast (sirloin tip, rump, English cut)

canola oil

onions

soy sauce

c. coffee

bay leaf

garlic (minced)

oregano

Add oil to heavy Dutch oven over medium high heat. Sear roast on all sides in oil.

Whisk together sauce ingredients and pour sauce over the roast.

Place half of onions on top of the roast and the other half into the sauce in the pan.

Cover and roast 4 hours at 325 degrees.

This Amish breakfast casserole is a bit different than most breakfast casseroles. It has three types of cheese, including cottage cheese. Not to worry, most people won&#039;t even notice the cottage cheese is this recipe. It melts into the dish making it so creamy and delicious.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

bacon

eggs (beaten)

shredded hashbrowns

cheddar cheese

cottage cheese

swiss cheese

green chiles

salt

cracked pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray.

Chop the bacon into bite sized pieces and cook in a large, deep skillet over medium heat until nearly crisp.

Add the onion and continue cooking until the bacon is cooked through and the onion has softened, about 5 minutes.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon and onions to a paper towel lined plate to drain.

Add the remaining ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the bacon and onions and mix until everything is well combined.

Transfer to the prepared baking dish and bake, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let set for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

This AMISH BREAKFAST CASSEROLE will quickly become a family favorite. Made with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and a surprise ingredient that really makes this breakfast casserole special!

Egg noodles and chicken cook together in a rich broth until nice and thick. This Amish classic is best served over a pile of mashed potatoes.

Amish Chicken &amp; Noodles

chicken

water

chicken broth base

celery (roughly chopped)

parsley

egg noodles (see notes)

cream of chicken soup

Add the chicken to a large stock pot along with the water, chicken base, celery, onion, and parsley. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cover.

Simmer for 2-3 hours. The longer the chicken simmers, the more flavorful the broth will be.

Carefully remove the chicken from the broth and remove the meat from the bones. Shred or chop into bite-sized pieces.

Strain the broth through a fine mesh strainer.

Return 4 cups of the strained broth to the pot and return to a boil.

Add the egg noodles and shredded chicken to the pot, cover, and turn off the heat.

Let the noodles set for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so.

Test the noodles for doneness. If they are not cooked through, turn the heat back on and cook for 1-2 minutes or until noodles are tender.

Add the cream of chicken and butter to the noodles and stir until the butter has melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve immediately or leave in the pan, covered, until ready to serve. These will stay warm in the pan for 30 minutes or so with no problems.

peanut butter (I use crunchy)

white sugar

brown sugar

eggs

milk

vanilla

all purpose flour

baking soda

oats

chocolate chips

Beat margarine, peanut butter and sugars together until creamy.  Blend in eggs, milk, and vanilla.  Add flour, soda, and salt to the creamed mixture.  Blend well.  Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Drop by spoonsfuls (I roll mine into balls  with my hands about the size of a walnut and place the ball unmashed) onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees about 15 minutes.  (I like the tops brown, so I usually turn on the broiler for about two minutes before taking out of the oven).  Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

Place the flour, baking powder, salt and shortening in a bowl.

Use a pastry cutter or two forks to cut the ingredients together.

Sift through the mix with your clean hands. to make sure it is all mixed well and there are no large chunks of shortening.

Store your mix in an airtight container at room temperature.

Use this dry mix in place of bisquick in equal amounts.

Amish Country Casserole

macaroni pasta (or use your favorite)

Olive Oil

beef

Paprika

Salt and Black Pepper

Milk

Cream of Mushroom Soup

Tomato Soup

Parsley

Pre-heat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking pan.

Cook the pasta according to package directions, minus two minutes. Drain and return to pot. Set aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil until shimmering. Add the onion and cook until softened and translucent. Add the beef and cook thoroughly, breaking up the meat into crumbles with a wooden spoon. Pour over the cooked pasta

Stir in the soups and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to the prepared baking pan and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly.

Just a little sweet and brimming with onion flavor. 

Amish Onion Cake 

Vidalia onions, chopped into 1" pieces

butter, divided

Tbsp poppy seeds

tsp salt

paprika

tsp black pepper

flour

cornstarch

Tbsp baking powder

Tbsp brown sugar

sour cream

Preheat oven to 350˚F. Over low heat sauté onions in 1/2 cup butter for 10 minutes. Add in poppy seeds, salt, paprika, and pepper and stir to combine. Remove pan from heat and set aside.

In a large bowl mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and sugar. Cut in 1 1/4 cups butter to form a loose and crumbly dough.

Melt the rest of the butter. In a separate bowl whisk together eggs, milk, sour cream, and melted butter. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour the wet mixture into the dry. Stir only until just combined.

Pour batter into a greased 10” springform pan. Top with caramelized onions. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before releasing from the pan.

Yoder's Amish Peanut Butter Pie

Deep-Dish Pie Shell (9" or 10", baked)

Cups Sweetened Whipped Cream or Cool Whip

Cornstarch

tsp Vanilla extract

egg yolks (room temperature)

Tbs Butter (room temperature)

Sugar

Powdered Confectioner's Sugar

Crunchy Peanut Butter

Combine corn starch, salt, 1 cup of cold milk, egg yolks, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Stir until smooth, then set the mixture aside.

Heat remaining 3 cups of milk, butter, and sugar in a medium sauce pan until scalding, stirring constantly.

With a whisk, add the corn starch mixture to the hot milk. Cook, stirring constantly until the mixture is thickened, but do not allow it to boil.

Remove from the heat and cool slightly, about 10 minutes.

Place a piece of saran wrap over the top to prevent a skin from forming while you prepare the crumb mixture.

Prepare the Amish Peanut Butter Pie Filling

Using a mixer, combine the powdered sugar and peanut butter until small crumbs form.

Prepare the Crumb Mixture

In the cool, baked pie shell, place half of the crumb mixture.

Spoon the warm pudding on top of crumbs.

Spread the remaining crumbs over the pudding, reserving a few to sprinkle on top for garnish.

Top the pie off with sweetened whipped cream and the reserved peanut butter crumb sprinkles. Chill for at least an hour prior to serving.

To ensure the crust stays light and flaky, do not cut it until you&#39;re ready to serve the pie.
