This EASY and DELICIOUS apple cobbler has a juicy apple filling topped with a perfectly sweet, cinnamon-infused biscuit crust. Add a big scoop of ice cream and you&#039;re instantly everyone&#039;s favorite baker.

Apple cobbler

lbs apples (add an extra pound of apples if you want a thicker apple layer.)

lemon

Tbsp lemon juice (fresh)

brown sugar

cornstarch

cinnamon

tsp nutmeg

tsp vanilla extract

unsalted butter

all-purpose flour

sugar

baking powder

salt

Preheat oven to 350F. Peel apples and cut flesh from core. Cut into 1/4 inch slices and transfer to a large bowl.

Zest a lemon onto the apples then squeeze about 2 tablespoons of lemon juice onto them. Toss to combine.

Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and corn starch to the apples. mix until well-combined then set aside.

For the Apples

Add the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar to your food processor and pulse to combine. You can also add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon if desired.

Add the COLD cubed butter to the processor and pulse a few times until the butter is in small lentil-sized pieces.

Pour the half and half into the processor while pulsing. Remove blade and use a spatula to give one final mix.  See blog post for instructions on making this by hand.

For the Topping

Layer the half the apples in the 9x13 baking dish. Add a few pats of butter throughout then top with the remaining apples.

Add a roughly 1/2 inch layer of the topping onto the apples. Sprinkle with a mixture of 2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar if desired.

Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.

For the Assembly

You won't have days and days of leftover cobbler with this perfectly scaled-down recipe. It makes just enough for two!

For the filling: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Toss the apples with 2 heaping tablespoons of the sugar, the flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the butter, and toss. Divide the filling between two 6-ounce, 3 1/2-inch ramekins, tent each loosely with foil and bake until the apples are tender and the juice is bubbling, about 35 minutes. Remove the ramekins from the oven, remove the foil, give the apples barely a stir with a fork and press the top into the juices.

For the topping: Whisk together the flour, the baking powder, salt and 1 teaspoon of the sugar in a small bowl. Quickly stir in the heavy cream, then work the dough with your fingers as if you were working butter into pie dough, to make moist, slightly flattened chunks of dough.

Top each ramekin with dough, dividing evenly. Sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon of the remaining sugar, and bake until the topping is browned and crisp, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool slightly, top with ice cream and serve.

The apples and portion was spot on, but the dough wasn't. I used skim milk and ended up with a batter, but I think I would've ended up with a batter no matter what.

Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch pan lightly with cooking spray.

Stir together brown sugar, water, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a saucepan. Stir in apples. Cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring.

Pour mixture into prepared pan.

In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter, just until combined.

Pour the mixture over the apples in the pan. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.

Bake for about 38-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Cover and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

This old-fashioned Apple Cobbler is one of my FAVORITE fall desserts. It’s made with fresh apples in a cinnamon sauce, with a delicious cake-like topping.

This delicious apple cobbler is easy to make with Bisquick mix and fresh apples.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Core and dice enough apples to get 1½ cups of diced apples.

Combine sugar and water in a medium-sized pan.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes.

Add diced apples and then cook them until they are softened.

Combine Bisquick, sugar, and cream in a bowl.

Drop the dough by spoonfuls into a baking pan.

Pour hot apples over the dough.

Sprinkle cinnamon on top.

Cut the butter into pieces and place the pieces scattered on top.

Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes.

Apple and Pear Crisp

Bosc pears (4 pears)

apples (6 apples)

orange zest

orange juice

light brown sugar,

oatmeal

(2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, diced

Peel, core, and cut the pears and apples into large chunks. Place the fruit in a large bowl and add the zests, juices, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into a 9 by 12 by 2-inch oval baking dish.

For the topping: Combine the flour, sugars, salt, oatmeal, and butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed for 1 minute, until the mixture is in large crumbles. Sprinkle evenly over the fruit, covering the fruit completely.

Place the baking dish on a sheet pan and bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until the top is brown and the fruit is bubbly. Serve warm.

How to make an easy homemade Apple Cobbler! This recipe can be prepped and in the oven in under 20 minutes!

brown sugar (firmly packed)

Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly butter an 11x7 pan. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Add apple slices and toss until all slices are coated with sugar/flour mixture. Set aside while you prepare your cobbler topping.

In a food processor¹, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, and pulse until combined.

Scatter butter over the top of the flour mixture and then pulse again until coarse crumbs form.

Add cream and pulse briefly until mixture clumps together and is a soft dough.

Stir apples once more then transfer apples and any juices to prepared pan. Make sure they're spread evenly over the pan.

Use your hands to evenly distribute cobbler batter over the top of the apples. It won't completely cover the apples and that's fine (see picture in post), but try to make it so that the lumps are approximately equal in size and depth so they cook evenly.

Transfer cobbler to 350°F oven and bake for 45-55 minutes or until topping is a light golden brown and cooked through.

Allow to cool several minutes then serve. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipping cream, if desired!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x13-in or large round baking pan.

Add sliced apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla, water, and wine in a large bowl. Toss to combine. Transfer apples to prepared baking pan and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes.

While the apples are cooking, prepare the topping.

For the Filling

Combine flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, and salt  in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse a few times to combine.

Add cold butter and pulse until sand-like texture. Add hot water until a dough forms. The mixture should be the consistency of drop biscuits. Add 1 -2 tablespoons at a time if your dough is too dry.

Once apples have cooked, use a large scoop or a spoon to drop the dough over the apples. Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the dough. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes.

The incredibly tasty Apple Dump Cake is a super easy dessert, despite the not-so-great name! Apple pie filling, cake mix, and butter are layered in a 9 x 13 pan and baked until golden. This is a perfect dessert for last minute entertaining!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease your 9 x 13 baking pan with butter or spray with non-stick cooking spray. Add the apple pie filling, distributing as an even bottom layer.

Pour the boxed yellow cake mix over the apple pie filling. Gently shake or tamp the pan on the counter to spread the cake mix evenly.

Next, add the melted butter. Pour the butter over as much of the cake mix surface as possible.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45-50 minutes or until golden browned on the top and bubbling around the sides of the pan. Allow the apple dump cake to cool slightly before serving, if desired, for about 15 minutes.

Apples:

apple juice, apple cider or water

Batter:

self rising flour

eggs

tsp pure vanilla extract

vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce

To make the Apples: In a heavy bottomed skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat.

Toi the skillet add apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, apple pie spice and salt. Mix well. Lower heat to medium-low. Simmer allowing to bubble gently for 15-20 minutes.

Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with apple juice until dissolved. Increase heat to medium-high and stir into the apples. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool. (This can be done up to 2 days in advance and placed into the refrigerator.)

To make Cobbler: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Put 1/2 cup butter in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish OR 12 inch cast iron skillet and into the oven to melt while it preheats.

Meanwhile, in a medium size bowl whisk together self rising flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, milk, eggs and vanilla extract until fully combined.

Remove dish from oven and swirl to coat all sides with butter. Pour batter evenly into the dish.

Spoon apples all over batter. Mix together reserved 2 tablespoons granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle on top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden and puffed.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of warm salted caramel sauce, if desired.

Passover Cobbler

matzo meal

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil a 9 by 9-inch square baking pan. 

Beat eggs with sugar until well blended. Add the oil, matzo meal, potato starch, salt and blend well. 

Put all the fruit in the pan and sprinkle with most of the cinnamon sugar, reserving a little for the top. Spoon the batter over the fruit, covering as much of the fruit as you can. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. 

Bake until the topping is set and just turning tan, about 45 minutes. Serve hot, warm or at room temperature.

It was great! The first Passover dessert we've had that didn't taste like a Passover dessert. I made it with apples on the bottom and cherries on the top then the batter. Yummy!

Delicious. The best Passover dessert i've ever had. I made a dairy version with melted butter instead of the oil, and also used cinnamon in the batter as well as on the fruit. I added slivered almonds on top of the batter before baking and served with homemade whipped cream. <br /><br />I made the batter earlier in the day and left the apples to sit with the cinammon and sugar so I could cook when our guests arrived, making it a no fuss entertaining option. <br /><br />This was a great recipe that I'll be making for years to come!

Very easy and tasty.  Whole Foods only stocked whole wheat cake flour (matzo) so I used that.  With strawberries, pears, apples and some leftover dried montmorency cherries, it was delicious, and a light finish to the feast.

I made this for the seder, but used matzah cake meal instead of matzah meal.  This made the topping much more "cake-like" and everyone loved it.

I made this cobbler with strawberries and peaches,  and it was a hit.  I had to forego the potato starch (sold out in the Passover rush), so the topping was very loose, but I just baked it until it set, and dessert survived!  Calling it a "cobbler" might cause false expectations of what this dish can be, but the fresh fruit and sweet crunchy topping still made for a great Passover dessert.

Okay, granted its hard to make great desert with matzo meal, but this one is a good one.   I make it with strawberries and I do not add cinnamon, also I add appricot jam (organic without corn syrup) and it turns out yummy.  For some reason it tastes better cold.  Also, I use frozen strawberries.  Defrost strawberries and slice them.
