Sour Cream Biscuit Peach and Berry Cobbler

peaches (nectarines, or plums

lemon juice

sugar

cornstarch flour

all-purpose flour

baking powder

baking soda

salt

unsalted butter

Preheat the oven to 375°F.  Butter a deep-dish 9-inch pie pan.  Pile in the peaches, plums, nectarines, and/or berries and sprinkle on the lemon juice, ¼ cup sugar and the cornstarch or tapioca flour.  Toss to combine.

Make the biscuits: In a small bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Add the butter and cut it in with a pastry cutter or two knives, or rub it in with your fingers, until the mixture has a granola like texture.  In a another small bowl mix together the sour cream and heavy cream, and add that to the flour mixture.  Use a fork to mix just until the dough comes together, and use your hand to gently knead it a couple of times in the bowl.

Lightly flour a clean surface and gently pat the dough out to a ½ inch thick disk.  Cut circles with a 2-inch biscuit or cookie cutter (or a glass).  Pat together the scraps and cut out another circle or two.  You can also just cut the dough into strips or squares.  Place the pieces of dough over the top of the peaches, making sure that some fruit is visible between the pieces.  Bake for about 45 minutes, until the fruit is bubbling and the biscuits are golden brown.

Cool on a wire rack for about 20 minutes, then serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream, or whatever creaminess moves you.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Pour the first can of peaches and it&#039;s juices into a 9x13 pan. Next, drain the juice from the second can and pour only the peaches into the baking dish. Do not use the juice from the second can.

Add the melted butter, a pinch of salt, the lemon juice, sugar and vanilla extract to the peaches and syrup in the pan.Mix well to combine.&nbsp; **SEE NOTES**

In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon a small pinch of nutmeg and salt. Mix very well. Pour the flour over the top of the peach cobbler. Make sure you cover the majority of the top of the cobbler with flour.

Using your clean hand or the back of a large spoon, smooth out the flour mixture covering the edges as best as you can but it's fine if you miss some of the edges. See post for steps and pictures about this step. When you're done smoothing the flour, the top should be smooth and not big and lumpy.&nbsp;*SEE NOTES*&nbsp;

Starting from the top of the pan working your way down, drizzle melted butter over the top of the of the flour. Bake for 15 minutes then reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees F and continue to bake for an hour or until the top has is crisp and golden brown. Serve warm with scoop or two of ice cream. Prep. Preheat the oven to 350º F. Add sliced butter to the baking dish and place in the oven while it preheats to allow the butter to melt. Remove the baking dish once the butter has melted.

Prep the peaches. Add peeled and sliced fresh peaches and 1/2 cup sugar to a bowl and toss to combine. If using thawed frozen peaches, do the same as fresh peaches. If using canned peaches, drain away the juices from one can of peaches and only use the juices from one can.

Make the cobbler batter. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the milk and whisk until smooth and well combined. If using self-rising flour, omit the baking powder and salt.

This easy cobbler recipe is a dump and go recipe, perfect because you can keep the ingredients on hand for a quick dessert. This old fashioned peach cobbler recipe is one of our favorite desserts.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium-size mixing bowl coarsely mix the flour, 3/4 cup of the sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter together. You can add a dash of cinnamon here if you want too.

Sprinkle about one-third of the flour mixture on the bottom of an 9x9 baking dish. The flour mixture will slightly mix with the syrup of the peaches while baking and thicken it up a bit.

Add the peaches with their juice to the dish. If you like your cobbler on the dry side don&#39;t add all of the liquid.

Sprinkle the top of the peaches with the remaining sugar/flour mixture. Sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar. Drizzle with the remaining 1/4 cup of on melted butter on top of the batter. There will be a lot of liquid and it will look wet. Don&#39;t worry, the flour mixture will soak up the liquid.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Let cobbler sit for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This can easily be doubled in a 9x13 baking dish.
